The origin of all that was totally unrelated to Derek, another admin asked my permission to post a trailer, I gave it and everything was honky dory until the post was never made. Eventually it was.
Anyways, this marks yet another thread that has something positive about me or my games being derailed. Sensing a pattern, more like.
TBH this isnt really an indie site. its a game creation community. most indie sites only report on indie news. not have a database of games. which, tigsource has. and it has quite a lot. most of which is better than anything on tdc.
Indie site, game creation community... same thing. If anything, having a database of user-made games makes it even more of an indie site. Now, if we said "Indie News Website" I'd be inclined to agree that TDC isn't one, but drop the "news" and we're just as indie as anyone else.
Besides, Werewoof said "Indie Community." And I'd like to think we have one of the best indie communities...
This thread proves that a lot of my theories on amateur indie game development are true.

TDC as it is now is just a small amount of the whole indie scene. How long has it been since anyone submitted a game not made with a Clickteam product? Do we even know how big 'Click' measures on the indie scene scale is as a whole?
It's always been my favourite click community site, although there has rarely been anything to match it's sheer amount of users and content.

TBH, I find that it's one of the least friendly Most other communities form little cliques where they'd start clans together and stuff. A lot of them rarely get into flame wars, which I think is quite cool; everyone would back off when things get heavy. TIGSource is pretty awesome.
TDC is one of the friendlier of the klik sites though. If you've seen some of the old klik sites - damn, they were nasty. Pretty much copy and paste someone's typos and lololol at them till someone forgets the joke. Still friendly to their own mates, though.
Also, there are certain game making sites where the admins actively abuse members. Those still live, surprisingly. MBK knows what I mean
It used to be worse here. It's a little predator and prey cycle. The prey leave after getting bullied. When some troll runs out of prey, he'll usually leave TDC. A few come back after the site gets big again, but lately, TDC's been keeping itself small enough to keep the trolls out.

Nonklik games are submitted.. ALL the time. But always gets swamped by klik games.
And Click is shrinking on the indie scene. Used to be huge during the MMF1 days, but it's getting smaller and smaller. Most people regard it as nothing special, just that a lot of Clickers (e.g. Derek Yu, Nifflas, Mark Pay, James, Adam, Rixx, Ashley) have been more motivated than other indie game developers. But Derek made some sweet game in GM and Ashley's working on Construct.. what does that mean? They're still Klikers at heart, but not actively using MMF anymore.
