Love the way a thread about cider changes to English lessons, good work Mr. Boothman!
I remember when i first started going out and being a huge vodka lover, then one evening before a night out we went over to a pal's house and played on his PS1. We were playing each other on Fifa and Mortal Kombat 4 and the loser had to down a large measure of this cheapo Safeway (yep, that long ago!) vodka. I was on a good winning streak and hadn't had a drink for (what seemed like) ages, so grabbed the bottle and started drinking huge mouth-fulls from it. Then we went out to go clubbing. Then when we got outside to walk into town it all hit me; the fresh air, the vodka, all of a sudden i was mega-hammered.
So much so i don't remember actually getting into town - apparently by then i was being propped-up by 2 of the lads, and they refused me entry into the club (obviously!), then a taxi refused to take me so they walked me back to one of the lad's house to sleep it off. Next thing i remember is waking up the next morning after kipping on Phil's brother's bed (apparently i'd been sick on his floor too) and hearing that i'd caused a massive arguement between Phil and his mum coz he wanted to leave me there whilst they went out and she thought i was gonna die so didn't want to be lumbered with my carcass!

The most drunk I ever got, I must of been about...mmm just turn 17. Yup. My friend LouLou she turned 18 but no one could go out on 'er birthday because we was all to young. Anyway she bought loads of booze from Tesco and we all decided to drink in this park that looks really nice. Well I say park, it's more of a grassy field just outside my house. Anyway we had a few (Mickey Finn shots) and then Mikey and I decided to play Spin and Drink Jagermeister. A whole bottle. Each. We was ok until we finished it off and decided to go onto this Black Vodka stuff. I tell you now, I never been so drunk in my life. All I remember after drinking Black Vodka (not all the bottle about half) was acting like Sonic the Hedgehog and then trying to commit suicide because Mikey told me that I wasn't Sonic the Hedgehog.
Luckly I was able to keep it all in, but my god didn't I have a hangover the next day. From that day forward I never ever drink to the pont of being totally wasted. (Well maybe on my 18th I did a tad but I was allowed.)
Apprently also I tried talking to another drunk lass and we started ranting about fish, but I really can't remember doing that. Not sure if my friends were making that up...sounds like me though.
Usually I just drink water through the night and regardless of how much I drink, I feel fine the next day.
But uh .. I forgot to do that last night. Not good. Rough guts.
After a school friend died when I was 15, me and a friend went out and got pretty drunk. Never got past the tipsy stage since. But considering I only have a glass of champagne at New Years it easily goes to my head, heh. I'm a cheap date.
I've often wondered what American cider tastes like... find out and let me know!
I remember another time i was drunk, and i got a taxi home (living 3-4 miles out of town in a village). I asked the driver to drop me off about 1/2 a mile from home along a main road coz i felt sick, so he did and after he turned round and left i began puking up in a gateway to a field, then i fell on my ass, then to my back and i was so wasted i fell asleep. Next thing i know it's an hour later and i've been asleep in the wet, dew covered grass on a cold night, but the sleep must have done me good coz i was able to stand up and make the rest of the way home!
Dr. James, american cider taste like kinda like extremely sour apple juice. It's not really sour, it's just got a lot more twang than apple juice. Hooch Cider, Whiskey mixture, I always thought almost mixed together in a cinnamon like flavor. Never had full blown hard cider mixture with plain ol' beer though...
I live in US like Peblo so alcohol is illegal until your 21 for me too. I've rarely touched alcohol, not really my thing, occasionally when I'm at a mud run I might drink a beer just to be social. I think the main novelty for the US that makes it so good, is that we're not supposed to touch till we're 21, so that adds a lot to it... I've still never had a real reason, so I usually steer clear.
It's strange because drinking just seems to coincide with becoming a legal adult in Australia at 18 and getting your drivers licence at 17. If we weren't legally adult until 21 it would send the kids crazy here. Common to find 14 year olds drinking, sometimes even 12-13 year olds (just entering high school). Not that it's a good thing, it's really a terrible thing. Not that I know any statistics on the matter, but I guess then younger people are dumb enough to drink and drive when they get their provisional licence at 17/18. You can start learning to drive at 15, though it's illegal to drive without L plates and a fully licenced driver in the passenger seat.
