ok ok ok , now lets face it .. 2d games are boring , boring , boring and don't mind but they are boring ..
so why clickteam is wasting their precious time in making these 2d games development tools..
now when we think of a clickteam 3d games creator .. the first name which comes in our mind is JAMAGIC!!
.. but again , we have to write codes there .. so why don't clickteam try to make a software like GAMES FACTORY or MULTIMEDIA FUSION e.t.c which can create 3d games!!
..... 3D GAMES FACTORY!!

The last thing I recall, Multimedia Fusion was the latest and greatest game development tool for 2D games, and semi-3D games, from Clickteam. Ever since that program they have been focusing on taking things one step closer. First Jamagic, next with the next level of MMF that will include the ability of making 3D games and other nifty things.

What is your problem? You're saying 2D games are inherently boring and 3D games are inherently fun. Wrong. I bet if you made a 3D game, it would suck. Sorry, face the facts.
I've played tons of good 2D games. I've played tons of horrible 3D games. And what is wrong with Jamagic? Your post shows two things: you have been spoiled on 3D games (which involve not only coding, but texturing, modeling, and 3D engines) and you are also too lazy to pick up code.

I agree, Jeremiah. 2D games do rock. Heart Break Kid, have you ever played Commander Keen? That's one of the best 2D games ever!

I agree with Jeremiah, and I also have no respect for people who dont respect 2D games. Commander Keen is a legend, but even before that I can remember Dangerous Dave!

Dangerous Dave - possibly the world's first survivial horror? Well, maybe not, but it was great all the same. And who could forget such classics as Commander Keen (as mentioned earlier), Prince of Persia, and the early Mario and Sonic games?
Dismissing the entire 2D genre like that makes you seem more than a little ignorant... does the addition of a third dimension really help all that much? Rollercoaster Tycoon, for instance - isometric and very definitely 2D, but it didn't stop it from becoming one of my favourites.

3D games are becomming boring. I want old school style 2D platform mario style games in new tech, not the new 3D world run around Mario piece of crap games they've released with Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine.
I feel I'm constantly ignoring my new generation game console systems for old game emulation.

Conclusion: It's the gameplay that counts, not the graphics/dimension.

Sorry, I have to join in as a 2D defender here... how the HELL can you honestly say 2D games are boring and back it up. Without 2D we'd have no 3D...
You must have had a seriously misplace childhood if you didnt spend hours on your own in a dark room playing mario world, SOM, Zelda, Gaia, Mystic quest etc. and naming the characters after yourself and girls you fancied...
or is it the other way round?

in terms of gameplay 2d and 3d games can be as good as each other
but with graphics, 3d have way more potential and that is why almost all modern games are 3d
if you played a 2d game on your ps2 gc or xbox you would probably feel you have been ripped of paying £40 or however much for that sort of game.
thank goodness for the gameboy advance then.
oh and to answer your question clickteam have made jamagic which is a 3d game maker

Dude, 3D games are only better, because they seem more realistic. Now, if you can't be arsed learning Jammascript, then you won't be making any realistic 3D stuff. It'll probably be a buggy version of the original Wolfenstien. Even that is pretty hopeful. I've seen a lot of games that had potential, but totally sucked, because some idiot decided to make them 3D. The third dimention causes a lot more bugs, and a lot more inconveniences. Surely you guys remember early 3D games don't you?
Copy this to your hard drive. It will be worth alot when I'm famous.
