GOTW: 2003/01/05

First things first: congratulations to Beppo, clear winner of this weeks GOTW award by 15 votes. You can download his game, The Line, here.

Next week's GOTW will feature:
Super Mario in Worlds Unknown, Shotgun, Convience Store Sim, Tremor 4 Tournament Online Multiplayer BETA, Blobb 2 Demo, HyperGem Pocket (KES), Random Maze & GO! TríDi balman

Secondly, I've updated the poll and gotw scripts so that you need to be logged in to vote, and so that each user can only vote once. Hopefully this will also remove the "add 1 to start" bug that everyone keeps complaining about. We'll have to wait and see, so if there are any bugs that you discover, send me a PM here.

Finally, it seems that this year people plan to win the GOTW more than anything else (sorry guys, there arent that many weeks in a year!) This was followed by creating more games, then working harder at school/work and learning a programming language .

One more thing I forgot to mention is you can discuss what you'd like the next competition to be (as well as voting on the poll) at this forum topic: http://www.create-games.com/forum_post.asp?id=19383 If you vote for a specific, undecided theme, be sure to mention what you have in mind on that topic.

I actully voted for that, its a good idea, me and my friends have had these compertitions, and they are alot of fun, just have certain rules like, it must be beatable. must last longer than a certain amount of seconds ect. There alot of fun.

How about we vote for the crappiest game already submitted to DC(like somebody suggested in the forum). That way any1 won't try to make crappy games. Btw i read this at the GOTW award page: Demos and unfinished games are now no longer selected for nomination in the GOTW Awards ....and what do I see, Blobb 2 Demo and Tremor 4 BETA. I'm pretty sure that text/rule was there before you guys submitted this weeks GOTW poll.
