Review: Hell Creatures Rotten Corpse - Nightmare

I felt someone needed to write a more honest review of this travesty to balance out the 10/10 (which seemed suspiciously biased!)

You may ask what are my motives for this? The answer is: people visiting TDC will check that review and play the game thinking this game is the very best that our community can do.

This is not the case...

Presentation:

Nice title screen, good use of transitions and an inviting atmosphere!
At this point I was looking forward to a playable castlevania style game and hitting buttons like a maniac to see how it played.
Thumbs up so far!

Gameplay:

In a word: awful. Default movement used, which causes the character to aim in the wrong direction. Lazy programming, the enemies are not fun to kill, they have no "getting hit animations" or flashes to show they were even hurt. A real chore to kill stuff. The jumping feels bad as does the momentum.

Graphics:

Very nice static but bad animation apart from the death scenes which are nicely gorey.
Good title screen as said before.

Sound and Music:

"Dont fear the reaper" midi and metalica apparantly, fitting and well chosen for this theme.
The sounds didnt seem very inspiring or solid, however.

Lastability:

Other's have said the ending is excellent, however the game only lasted 2 minutes for me before the core of the gameplay took it's tole on my patience (ie, I switched off)

Overall:

Could have been great but the poor animation, default movement and bad collision, impacts and abscence of any "fun factor" prevent it being anything more than 4 out of 10.
