I got this out a little late for the competition (it wouldn't have won anyway), but I hope it's out before Christmas. I'm planning on making it into a mini-game within another game. I'm not quite sure if you'd call it "Christmassy," but it includes snow and some Christmas Carols. As for what it's about...um, well, you are a crazy jack-in-the-box and there are these... babies... well, pretend they aren't babies. Pretend they're shaved cats with diapers. No, wait, they're not cats either... umm... well geez, they're drawings. Get over it.

First of all, don't use installers! {mad} Well, the game is not very christmassy. I mean it is but you kill babies with an axe? I don't think it would have been accepted in the competition.

In the past, people have had problems opening my games without installers (but they aren't clickers). Yes, I know, I know. I've debated whether I should change to something less offensive like chickens or flower pots, but my initial idea was babies and that's what I went with.

Reuploaded file without installer at above Crosswinds link. (You'll need to right-click and "Save Target As", b/c they don't support direct linking.)

You are one disturbed person. I hope you don't do that to small people at xmas time! XD the control was a bit annoying, and the game i little short, graphics a bit plain i could go on but i won't. Fun for a while, then a lil repetitive ;)

Hmm. "In the past, people have had problems opening my games without installers (but they aren't clickers)." That'll be because they don't have the CNC32DLL installed on their computer, necessary for TGF/MMF-made products. An installer automatically installs the DLL.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with this, as the movement control has been a thorn in my side from the beginning of this project. I achieved Jack's "bouncy" movement with two body objects, one for moving left, and the other going right. They both use path movements with two nodes (going up and coming down), and always stay aligned with each other at a (0,0) hot spot. When the player presses right, the "right" body follows its path, while the other follows. Same for the opposite side. I used an active bar object at the bottom to stop Jack when he is supposed to hit the ground. It works fine sometimes. However, often something happens that causes Jack to move too far away from the bottom bar (thus causing him to bounce non-stop) or too close (and he stops at every path node). I hope all that made sense :) If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, or any better ideas for doing Jack's movement, I'd appreciate them!

Alright, comments! Lew: Of course not! :) Yes, this still needs a lot of work before I consider it finished. If you have any ideas on how to improve the control, I'd like to hear them. :D AtomSoft: I got the idea from my initial "Jack Knife" game, which I'm also developing. It involves a jack-in-the-box who's out for revenge on a family at Christmas after years of terrible abuse (that's why he's so beat up). I wanted to include a mini-game, and this is what I came up with. Sly: I've picked up that DLL from other click games. Does the DLL have to be specifically for this game, or will anyone work. Thanks everyone!

Just a note: I included the installer with the file at the Geocities link. Anyone who doesn't already have the CNC32.dll should download the game from there.
