Poxie is a 2D action game that combines pacman and platform game concept, featuring vertical scrolling, 320*200 resolution, 256 colors graphics and Sound Blaster sound effects and music.

The game concept is based on(borrowed from) a relatively unknown QBasic game called Panic Vicious made by HUR.

Other game features:

*6 stages each with different background graphic

*3 worlds(2 stages per world) each featuring it's own enemies and foreground graphic

*6 types of enemies

*2 types of enemy AIs(movement algorithm)

*several layers of animated graphic

*ability to play the game in full screen and window mode

*ability to play the game in stripped graphic mode (no dizzy background and animations)

*game ending worth being mentioned

Poxie is a Windows 32-bit game.

It's nice to play a game that uses a not so often used idea. I liked the game but i have some reservations (critisism) No music? It was very slow paced for my liking. You seem to have used a rather dull pallette, Maybe not so much in bright mode but it still seems to lack colour, like an old 16 colour pc dos game even though you state it's 256 colours. The background moves unusually, when you're at the top the background moves but the forground doesn't. oh and U.2? that water effect is nothing new mate. Joshua, read the readme file, it tells you what he wrote this with.

There is music but it only plays the main menu and the outro. The game pace suits me fine and the number of people who complain about it is in minority. The scrolling was not proberly tested to get the best parallax effect. Sorry about that. Well, maybe with the next game. I just want to say that I've released a new version which fixes that "100% CPU usage problem" if you even noticed it. There are few more but insicnificant fixes(corrections in the text). Same download. Poxie was written in FreeBASIC( www.freebasic.net ).
