At last. After 5 months of development, Clouds Kingdom 3 is finally released.

BACKGROUND STORY:
As the adventure went on, Master JiKah travelled throughout a whole set of portals before he finally found the room where Sinith Majoo was known to hide. However the evil sorcerer was nowhere to be found. Instead, in the middle of the room, a final portal suddenly appeared and our hero decided to enter. He had nothing to lose. Wherever this portal may lead to, JiKah will do whatever it takes to track down and claim his revenge on his rival Sinith Majoo...

In Clouds Kingdom 3, Master JiKah will for the first time encounter enemies - an opportunity to practice the skill of the sword. To aid in his battle against these myserious enemies, there are also other weapons such as throwing stars and special moves. Nothing can stop him now.
Try the new Sword Spin Attack, added with version 1.5!

To a complete new & orginal soundtrack composed by Johan Hargne you fight through 16 levels with various enemies and bosses. Version 1.5 contains a vast amount of bugfixes and updated gameplay from the original game released in 2005.

Woo downloading.

You forgot to edit one thing out. By pressing space bar you can jump over frames.

Posted by Johan Hargne (Wartagon) 10th November, 2005

We know about that. Sorry, but Destroyer accidently compiled the BETA version, but the final game file is now updated and ready to download.

Posted by The Chris Street 10th November, 2005

You berk... always a good idea to include the necessary dlls

ie, bass.dll

Posted by DaVince 10th November, 2005

Wow.... Finally it's here... Suddenly, everyone's finishing up his/her projects!

Posted by Flava 10th November, 2005

The game is good - I kind of expected it to be a bit better but you've put a lot of effort into it, and the level designs are great. Quite a few bugs - like I lost all my health on the first boss but didn't die. But overall pretty good - probably a 7-8/10 from me.

Posted by Johan Hargne (Wartagon) 10th November, 2005

@Circy: You read the troubleshooting? We didn't include the dlls since we wanted the file size to stay small.

Posted by The Chris Street 10th November, 2005

Haha no I didn't, sorry! I was too excited about downloading this...

The first boss is rock hard... like Flava I lost all my health but did not die - The character couldn't move however, only jump. Fortunately he could still attack.

However... so far the game seems, not wishing to sound cruel or anything, but a bit... shallow? For instance, being able to duck would have been great, and the new moves (ie, the sliding and diving attacks) are pretty irritating to get working... the keys used for these moves are too close together in my eyes and it's easy to press the wrong one and end up performing the wrong move.

So far... I'd probably give this a 5 or 6/10.

Posted by Flava 10th November, 2005

I agree with everything Circy said really - like one time I accidently pressed space thinking it was jump or something, and the frames skipped

Posted by hishnak 10th November, 2005

I fell down this hole and it was supposed to be a secret area but I couldn't get out.
In all nice game. I thought it got a little annoying to have to sit there and wack away at these little robots for like five hits. Nice presentation.

Posted by PixelRebirth 10th November, 2005

Definately a big step forward compared to the other CK games. Congrats...
But I dont see why you need four different keys for the actions. Why not S + UP ARROW to throw and for that dash attack S + DOWN ARROW while you double jump. I feel that would deliver better gameplay, since you just have to use 2 keys (and the arrow keys of course).

Posted by axel 10th November, 2005

Me didn't like.
Sure a great job, but I didn't find it fun to play or anything.

Posted by Johan Hargne (Wartagon) 10th November, 2005

The boss bug is now gone.

Posted by Lukas Hägg 10th November, 2005

Really nice game. The graphics are good and consistent. Though I must agree with what Circy already has stated. In fact, I beat the first boss by dying and then just standing there and hacking away whenever he came near. (Did it twice too)
Two things that really bugs me about the controls is the placement of the buttons. I would rather have had the jum key on "S" and the attack key on "D". Mostly because it's to my own preference but I feel that it would also make the "groun Pund" easier to use (don't know by how much though, since it's really hard) because you woudn't need to move your finger from the jump key when you're about to press the "E" key. Customizable controls would be nice for this game, since it uses more than two buttons for actions.

I also noticed that if you die, go to the highscore screenie and then restart, the music disappears. And why can't that screen also be in fullscreen?

Well, I haven't played the whole game through yet. My first impression of the game is good. I'd probably give it 6-7/10.

Anyways good job!

meh. cool but not actiony enough for my taste.

Posted by Ski 10th November, 2005

Im agreeing with aggggge. I didnt find the levels exciting and the character froze near a cave area when he was supposed to die.

"Cannot load dmc3.Cox. This object might need an external program or library not yet installed" I have dmc2 installed on MMF, and I tried putting it in the same folder as clouds kingdom 3. What should I do?

Posted by Keatontech! 10th November, 2005

oops, i meant dmc2, but I can't edit my post.

Posted by Saven (CrobaSoft) 10th November, 2005

Did you put bass.dll in the same folder as CK3?

Posted by Keatontech! 10th November, 2005

Bass.dll? What's that?

Posted by AndyUK 10th November, 2005

a dll file you need to play games that use various music extensions.
find it and put it in the clouds kingdom 3 folder.

How the heck do you pump games out so fast? This is awesome for a game made in five months. Great work.

or host screenies?

Bass.dll can be found in the needs folder on crobasoft.com underneath the discription of any game.

or you could just use this link: http://www.crobasoft.com/products/click.php?id=ID ^^

Very nice game with a lot of heart. I'm sure what you guys learned from making this game will make your next release that much better.

Posted by CsaR 13th November, 2005

Well the game was pretty fun when I learned which attacks were suited to best deal with the different enemies.

A few things I personally thought were a bit irritating was how exact you have to press the "E" button to do that diving attack. Sometimes I ended up losing a life since I pressed the button to slow or to fast so that the move didn't execute itself.

Another thing was that the sword's reach is very small. If a monster is running away from you it's pretty damn hard to use the sword. Also it hits kinda slow to (same with the throwing stars, you can't really throw the that fast) which makes the action rather slow, but I guess that some people might like that.

So in all, nice game, looking forward to your future games.

Posted by hishnak 13th November, 2005

Yea, the sword range was a little short. If an enemy is walking toward you its really easy to get hit because of not timing your swing corectly.

Posted by Derek_Reaves 13th November, 2005

Downloading.

Hopefully this is good, considering you actually spent some time on it unlike most people .

Posted by pulsecode 13th November, 2005

Great effort! Nice to see the series improve with such a leap!

The sword does seem a little sketchy. Whether it's a collision or a range issue I’m not
sure but it is a bit sketchy none the less!

The only other criticism I have is that the controls are rather unintuitive.
It just appears that little thought went into the control scheme to minimise keys and
make the control set up feel more natural. That and the fact that certain controls
are made so rigid (the diving attack as CsaR pointed out) that they are horrible to
pull off, making them very risky to use and effectively discouraging you from
experimenting with them.

Well anyway, regardless of the problems, I think it’s a nice game!
Somewhat shallow as Circy pointed out,
but the effort that went into it is clear to see

Looking good so far, not very far into it though. Im posting to point out a bug. When I died in one stage my character is sitting still, and can face left or right but not move. he can also throw stars/swing his sword.
Shouldnt be too hard to fix if your coding is set up right, which im sure it is .

Posted by Derek_Reaves 13th November, 2005

also got stuck in the dash animation during a boss battle and couldnt move. Neither could the boss.

They should be fixed. Try to re-download it.

theres still bugs that keep you from progressing in the game.

Posted by Gus Stevenson 22nd November, 2005

Looks good! I'll have to check this out!

Posted by Johan Hargne (Wartagon) 22nd November, 2005

All the needed files are included, Stian B. Just look in there yourself.

Posted by Stian B. 22nd November, 2005

No,you not included the bass.dll to dmc2 object.

Posted by thewreck 22nd November, 2005

i died in like the second level right after you were told how to make that super move which btw feels not so powerful! i want a BANG! slam! screen shake! kaboom! some dust!...=

anyway, i died, and the dude just lay there on the ground for almost 30 seconds. Then and then it flashed a little... i think i pressed every button there is, but nothing.

@the FAILURE:
Go to the following link

and download the file located under "Extra Files" and extract them to the same folder as the program's exe.
