FIX: Jumping with INI's was causing lag.
(dont ask me why I used INI's in the first place for jumping)
It is now fixed Jumping now uses alterable values.

A couple months ago (or was it just one I have no clue) I submitted a preview of a game I entitled Laby. That game is finished now and it is given the name Affliction. Now why would Affliction be a good name for this platformer? Well because it will give you a headache (or just make you frustrated) with some of its challenges. Heh. Good times.

Story:
This is just a simple, fun, platformer it doesnt need a story.

Instructions are as follows:
Up Arrow: Jump
Left/Right Arrow:move left or right
Down Arrow: Crouch
Shift Key: Jump
CTRL Key: Turbo
Backspace: Respawn at last spawn point (beginning of level)

If your Turbo Gauge (top left corner) is depleted LET GO OF CTRL and rest a bit, if you continue to hold down CTRL then u will not be able to move whilst doing so.

Description:
This is a platformer that took me about a week and a half to create. Of course I did not work on it for a week straight i was just off and on the project.

You control the character stuck in a challenge plenty dimension trying to jump and duck under fire, slide on ice, avoid lasers, and more, all to get out of this strange place.

The last level may be a puzzle to figure out how to beat.
The rest of the levels, however, are pretty much straight forward and whether or not you can time things right.

Special Thanks:
I would like to thank the following people/websites:
Luke Rodgers AKA Waldo
Gaminggroundzero.com
Altavista.com
CollegeKid (made the original character sprites)

Thanks as always Daily Click for a place to upload my finished ideas and to see what people think of them.

Enjoy the game.

P.S. Sorry for the lack of screenshots, I don't like to give much away before people play my games.

I may suggest having the INI's populate the same directory as the game, as it's usually just the Windows folder you don't have access to.

I think the ini's save in the same folder now.. i think..

Not bad at all, although the movement could be improved very much. Its also annoying having to press backspace to restart the level >.>;

But nice work :3

Dude jumps like he's got a rocket shoved up his bum.

i would make the game an installer instead but alot of people hate installers. thats a problem with the inis i use an Ini for the jump so if ur not on a jump pad and u jump and u fly like heck u cant use the inis for some reason. Unless of course ur refering to the animation. I had to make my own using only the standing sprite so im sorry im a poor spriter

Err, using ini's for jump settings is a bit wierd. That's probably why I'm rocketing up like that. To make the ini's relative to the games' directory use these:

appdrive$ Game drive name
appdir$ Game directory
apppath$ Game pathname
appname$ Game filename

so it'd be something like appdrive$ + appdir$ + "ininame.ini"

that may not be right, I don't have anything in front of me to check it.
