The time has come!

The time for fast racing and dangerous circuits. In this game you must race your hover car around the track for a set number of laps. The amount of laps you must do depends on which cup you are racing for.

To be honest, it's not really a race, since there are no other racers on the track. All you need to do is survive.

Your car will explode if it hits an obstacle or comes to a halt.

There are a total of 9 cups/challenges in the game. There are 6 tracks to race on and each cup/challenge provides slightly different rules ranging from the amount of laps you must do to the car you race in. Maybe even the track will be modified in the challenge.

This game was created for the 20 event contest, so it's fairly limited in features. The most events in any frame is 8.


Don't forget to take the game out of the zip file so that it can save your progress correctly

Sorry folks, an error that was in the original game has been fixed! Please re-download the game and place it in the same folder as your previous game to play the corrected version.

(The Desert Switchway track was working incorrectly.)

I really liked how the sound became quieter under the bridge. It's a small thing but it added so much to the game.

Awesome, issa like a top down F-Zero!

Very impressive game Nick. If you didn't have other projects on the go I'd ask... demand you work on a big sequel for this.

Great graphics, nice music. Good presentation and menus.

Gameplay is decent too, albeit rather simplistic. But simple is good sometimes

Thanks guys! I may just work on a sequel or, more likely, an extended version of this game. Being limited by 20 events is quite restrictive and i really didn't want to add more than 8 events to a frame. I may work on a fuller version once Project: Roller Coaster is finished.

Lol no he didn't! But i'll give him credit for the little explosions when your ship explodes, he drew them!

After seeing a silly error which occured (you'd be suprised how hard it is to manage a game with 8 events!), I've updated the game file at the same download location. Simply replace your old .exe with this one and you can continue playing with the same save data.

Great, I'd love to see what you can do without the event # restriction. Is the bug you fixed the ability to "Try Again" and complete a level by only having to make up the number of laps you missed starting on the slowest speed? Cause that helped me

Awesome and professional looking, the levels look so amazing. The menu is so good.

LOL! You're the first person to actually mention that. I think that little bug cropped up after i had the Try Again system working properly, so i didn't notice it. It's fixed now if you'd care to update, but i doubt you do

How far through the game did you get?

Looks really good! Would have been better if there'd been an option to run it at 640x480 resolution, as the hovercraft was too small, I thought.

It would also be better if you were allowed to definitely stop before it blew you up. I'm not convinced I was fully stopped several times when it said I was. If you gave it a delay of 1 second, you'd know for a certainty that it was stopped. Kind of like a countdown, eg:

"You've Stopped!! 3... 2... 1... You're OUT!"

that kinda thing.

Opponents would obviously be teh ossumness, and the title screen music got annoying after a while. Some powerups would be nice, like a shield to let you take one hit, or an air-brake you can use one time after collecting it.

This gave me a cool idea for a game, based on a slightly different premise.

Damn you, Spade cup! I can't handle the speed (and it's frustrating starting the slow laps again - less laps, more speed would've been better). Still, I'm determined to complete it!

This game is intense once you really get into it, I love it! I wish I'd given an extra because this is a brilliant game, and the speed control element works fantastically with the harder cup levels.

Bravo, sir!

Hey man, great game. Went and beat everything At first I was kind of ticked about no acceleration, but it really works out great without it. Can't wait to go head to head with you in the competition Best of luck ^^

Congratulations t0rnad0, you're the second person who's said they've completed it! That's very impressive! I thought it would be too hard (even i took many attempts to do the Flame cup).

I wonder how our games will do in the competition, they're drastically different genres!

Flame Cup was the only one that presented me a ton of problems, specifically level 4 (I think) where you have to go around the loop to open the gates. The 5th level was kind of tough too, but that was it.

I think it all comes down to what Kisguri likes more really, we're sitting close in events and I'm sure we'll get full points for everything else. I'm excited though either way, this got me off my butt and motivated me to make something. I would just like the money to pay off my new MMF2 purchase haha.

Let's go for grabbing first and second place

Well, no! I didn't write anything since this was made in MMF! The turning physics are an imaginitive use of the Vector movement.

Hey, this game is great. I like the way you can slide round corners and using the rough to brake. Very well presented throughout and very playable! The music is good too especially as it fades in at the beginning of a race... 5/5

I found this game very enjoyable and ended up always saying "just one more go" then another 15 minutes would go by.
