Heh, I only ever really played the first one when tt first, first came out for PC. Wasn't too impressed. I tried playing some other incarnations of it, but they were even worse.
Hows Legend or whatever? I actually heard that one was a decent game.
HALO:Combat Evolved is certainly not an over rated game & is definately better than an average shooter. It gives that X-Feel which makes it more superior than any other shooter in this world.

HBK - Halo is just another shooter. I agree it's well made, but it's just another shooter. My personal favorite Timesplitters is just another shooter (though even more generic, but in a good way).

Thief (1-3)
Dues Ex (I haven't played 2 yet, but if the first was any indication, it's great)
Robotech: Invasion (This one is actually a bit less than Halo, but still fun)
Half-Life (haven't played 2)
Voyager: Elite Force (1+2)
YPOD (Your path of Destruction, a Doom-mod for the first Quake; get the remake, the original is really rough)
