Yeah let Sonic die. BUT NINTENDO, NEVER LET ZELDA OR MARIO DIE FOR GOD'S SAKE !!!!
All Sonic games are just plain shit, people think they're great games cuz the main character is cool and charismatic. Otherwise, this franchise would be already dead by the second game.

Tim: Sonic Spinball, you dumb shit. Further to your dumbshittedness, Sega still exists. They don't make consoles, but they're still a multi-billion-dollar developer.
AndyUK: Mmm, I didn't say they were bad, just that they were average. Had they not been released solely to provide Sega with a better mascot than Alex Kidd (tbh though I dig Miracle World a hell of a fuck more than any Sonic game ever), do you think there would've been so many damn sequels? If not for the marketing, I don't see how Sonic 1 could have warranted Sonic 2. Maybe that's just me.

I thought for the last couple of games that they were just in a bad phase, but the latest one affirms that they've gone entirely mad. Also, Crush 40 should release a new album instead of writing increasingly terrible music for the games.

I have Sonic R for the PC. Does it have a different name or something for not being mentioned?

Nintendo hasn't run Zelda into the ground like Sega has Sonic. Instead of throwing link into everything; they make us wait long periods of time in between his appearances. Sega should bury sonic for a while and give us a sweet new Vectorman or something.
All the Sonic's on the Game Gear were completely terrible by the way. 2 enemies per level?! Pathetic...

"All the Sonic's on the Game Gear were completely terrible by the way"
I really think that's down to taste and opinion. I loved the sonic series for the Game Gear, and I know loads of others that do too.

Out of all the Sonic games to date, I think Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favorite. Sonic 2 falls into my second favorite. I have Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic R, and Sonic CD for the PC, and of those 3, Sonic 3D Blast is my favorite. Out of all the newer Sonic games, excluding the next gen ones (haven't played them yet), Sonic Adventure 2 is my favorite, and Sonic Heroes is my second favorite. I have Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Heroes.
PS: I have the Sonic Mega Collections for GameCube, so I'll still pick up the game and play it when I'm bored.

I hear the new Sonic the Hedgehog is a lot worse than "subpar." The storyline sounds like a sonic/final fantasy crossover fanfic.

I supose that is true Radix.
I love Alex kidd in miracle world too.
I still say although a very large part of the series is average, the main Megadrive games are well above average in my opinion.
"SONIC CD which was like first console cd game? .. first and last on the genesis anyways :\ which was an awesome game and was really far ahead for its time."
It wasn't the first console cd game. Nor very far ahead of it's time because it's just the same sort of thing as Sonic 1 with cd streaming music and a few poor quality fmv's added.

Sonic Adventure 2: Appalling; they mixed different gameplay styles, the majority of the game was played with either the mechs or the chaos emerald hunting mode. Only Sonics stages were any fun.
I agree, the Sonic/Shadow stages were great, but Tails/Robotnik stages were pretty dull. The Knuckles/Rogue stages were ok I guess, but Sonic was were the fun was at.
Master system
Sonic 1 harder than the megadrive version, great little game
Sonic 2 graphics are a little bland, easier than 1 though
The hell? Sonic 2 was a damn lot harder.
Yeah let Sonic die. BUT NINTENDO, NEVER LET ZELDA OR MARIO DIE FOR GOD'S SAKE !!!!
*cough* fanboy *cough* If Mario died, who would they throw into numerous party and sports spinoffs? Do we really need eight Mario Party games?

I found the Tails/Robotnik and Knuckles/Rogue stages to be extremely boring/annoying. The Sonic/Shadow stages were the only reason I really played, even though I beat the game.

The trouble with Sonic Heroes, I found (quite apart from the eagerness with which all your characters fall off the stage all the time) was that it could have been a Lost Vikings-style puzzle game, but instead, you're told exactly which character to use at every opportunity - which makes it just running fast a lot with some unnecessary pauses while you switch around.

Tim: Sonic Spinball, you dumb shit.
Radix, wtf... there was no need for that, c'mon. I was recalling titles off of the top of my head ok? Please pardon my imperfect memory, ffs.
As with everything, its a matter of taste and opinion I guess - to roughly quote Adam I love Sonic and will continue to... at least the retro days anyway... I don't waste time playing consoles any more.
