Actually Kalle T, if you look close enough the black outlines i used for everything are only on the outside of the sprite, none of the outlines actually go in. (if that makes sence)
I just used a darker shade of whatever color i was seperating.
But Ill try to use a darker green to seperate them and see how it looks then.
Darker diamonds are on their way
Your just jealous that you're not as awesome as me.

I think the white lines on the ropes should go. Firstly, because it looks weird to me. Secondly, because much of the detail in the rope is lost as a result of the high contrast between the white outline and dark rope. I also don't think they should go above the top of the platforms - they look weird just floating in mid air.
As I've already said, I like the diamonds, but if you dedcide to lose them, you should definitely add some kind of texture to make it interesting. Rocks, bones and other buried stuff aren't really appropriate because you're not looking at a cross-section of the level (like in Worms for example) - some "platforms" are clearly further in the distance than others (you can see the overlap).
Hmm, the diamonds remind me of the tiles used for Sonic the Hedgehog. If you're gonna use them, try making them smaller maybe. If not, why not add an occasional detail such as a few stones, a couple of lumps of mud, maybe a clump of grass sticking out etc.
Some Sonic cd levels use a lot of triangles but those are much smaller. I can't think of a game that uses diamonds though.
anyway if you choose to stick with diamonds you could experiment a bit and make more than one thing. Give them a bit of depth or make loads of different sized ones (so long as they tile up well though)
Hmm, the rpoes do look kinda weird when ir eally look at it, ill try and do somethign with those.
And Im going to experiment with the dirt a little too.
Hopefully this all works out
Oh, and If any of you were wondering, I dont care if you edit this at all.
Go crazy

quick edit; not neccessarily any better than the original, but it illustrates what I was thinking (except it turns out the background needs the white outline after all).
for the earth tile, you can place it at different height when several "eath blocks" are near... because actually the tile seems to continue on the others blocks (do you understand what I mean ?)
I was just to lazy to do it originally - the way the pattern fill in Paintshop Pro works, you have to select each block individually (also quite hard to explain). You could also maybe try mixing in the diamond pattern on soem blocks.
