....

I've been using clickteam products since I was 12 and I only finished one game, and I still don't know how to use the fastloop object.

Tacos.

Carbonated beverages.

This thread didn't go as I expected

Ok, nice we're back on topic now, I'm changing the rules:
Most people are just saying "I don't finish stuff", so from now post a screenshot of a completed game and tell us something interesting about it. Doesn't have to be a "confession" as such, but something that we wouldn't otherwise know.

Right then, I'll go first.

I've never made a fastloop platform engine. I use floops all the time but not for platform engines.

Image

The platform engines in my games use a stupid "fake fastloop" engine, like

valueA>=1 : x=x+1
valueA>=2 : x=x+1
valueA>=3 : x=x+1 (etc)

Every game I make has some reference to Turrican 2's first level. In Sam it was this level which is like a condensed version with the exit section removed.

I've never been satisfied with any levels I make.

I always make my frame sizes huge intending to fill them up, but I always lose interest and seal it up halfway through.

1) I've never finished a game. The one game I did finish was a buggy piece of crap that I'm embarrassed about (my Donkey Kong remake)

2) I get new ideas all the time and loose interest in a heartbeat. Annoying as hell.

I never really lose interest in any of my ideas, since I love them all and would make them all if I could. It's just that I come up with so many I'm forced to pick one to work on, and I jump around sometimes. Or I did, anyway. I've been pretty good about sticking with one project lately.

I've been using Clickteam for a long time too and I've only created a lot of buggy games. None are good enough for TDC I believe. Hey!!! I think I'll just submit them all just to see if they'll be accepted.

Never said that. I said people do make games with notepad and it's free. Of course they probably need some other program to compile it.

I started this game to impress a girl (in 2002 mind you). Which it did but not quite enough. Luckily.

"Umm... I hate to break it to you Johnny, but I have a great free program that can do the same kinds of things. It's called notepad. If you're doing it for yourself, that's fine. I just don't believe that it will be used a lot. But that's just me probably."

Then what as notepad to do with my program ? also I don't who told you people used notepad as a ide, with so many free ides for some many diferent languages it's doesnt make much sense to use it as a ide for anything other than html.

FINE!!! You win... I'm not trying to have a war or something. Why can't we just have a calm pacific discussion like you had with OMC?

My confessions...

I give too much but only go so far.

I bite off more than I can chew. Meaning I don't finish my games because of lack of knowledge. Or because I lost interest.

One small bump in the road and that's all it takes to demotivate me.

Most of my project pages only have 1 word names.

That's all I can think of.
