"I'm making a fan game for the Next Generation Compo in December... "
December? It's starting in September! Needless to say I'll have to make it last longer than the original.

He did not say anything stupid. There was an inconsistency in what you said and it was merely pointed out. (And you've clarified it now) Nobody's attacking you, nobody's being mean. And if he or anyone did say something stupid, there is no need to erupt with equally stupid and sarcastic remarks with unnecessary profanity.
Capisce?
I was under the impression everyone was bantering, and we weren't being all too serious.
Now, let's get back on topic.

i'm not being too serious. I don't care so much =p. I'll stand by my opinion that his comment was stupid in my book, though. I just extended his logic down the chain =].

Fair enough!
Another confession, though it's quite obvious to everyone:
I suck at graphics. >_>

ahahah yeah right look at your first post and your last, looks like someone noticed the shit he stepped in and tried to clean it up so that nobody notices.
just drop it, what I said wasn't that obvious, it's easy to think the built in extensions are actually part of the program just like the properties editor is, for example and not actual extensions. And looks you didn't know that and got pissed because you thought I was making fun of you for not knowing that, which I wasn't.
I just quite simply tried to teach you something that might or might not be obvious, but since you're new in the community, I couldn't tell if you were a experienced user or a noob.

It's not that it's a bad game, I love Paper Mario, not as much as the other Mario RPGs though. It's just I thought I was finally done with Ripped Sprites...
Oh yeah, plus it's not just Paper Mario, it's also Luigi's Mansion. It's Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion rolled up into one. I tend to have a habit of Mix stuff, like with Motherworld. I'll just have to wait and see how the salad turns out....
Oh Yeah, another confession. I'm breaking NGC2's rules by using ripped sprites...

because trolling is serious business, right? Especially when there is a valid reason behind it.
btw check this.

okay lets examine
First post
bad news dude, whatever you do in mmf2 implies using someone else's code. The default actions and conditions (storyboard controls, mouse pointer and keyboard, sound etc...) are nothing more than built in extensions.

hum english isn't your first language isn't it?
Or you just deliberatly skipped the last sentence of my post.
Either way, whatever man I've got more interesting things to do than discuss with a troll.

You're stretching out something that should have been solved in the previous few posts. Grow up. You remind me of myself when I was 9.

I'm going to ruin reputation with more confessions! Hurray!
My bowling average is only 112.96 and I'm using a discontinued ball.
I've been practicing and criticizing my own art so I can improve. It's surprisingly fun though!
I've been studying multiple instances of architecture. I've been drawn to Tudorbethan, Victorian, and Gothic.
That's all for now.

Stop trying to get the last word in on each other and cluttering this thread with unnecessary off-topic posts.
My confession: I hate creating engines with the default diamond active object sprites running around everywhere, I can't stand seeing them on the screen, so I usually do at least some spriting before I even start a project. The problem is that even though I feel I am decent with spriting it's usually what makes me stop working on a project sooner because I get the shits with my sprites quickly.

Not only do I start projects and lose interest, I flit between loads of different aspects of game design/programming. For example at the moment I'm learning C++ from a book, working on a couple of mmf2 projects and recently felt compelled to make a Duke Nukem 3D TC... On top of working ungodly hours of the day and night.

may I ask what book ?
I have Beggining C++ Game Programming by Michael Dawson and it's very good, it explains everything very well and on detail, plus it comes with several examples in a cd.
I recommend it

In my first game, not only did I use the default movement, but I used invisible actives for everything (In the stretched out version of the default shape ) because I didn't know how to make a backdrop an obstacle. Same game as above. I was such an idiot.

Went quite off-topic there didn't we? ... I'm not gonna piss around with images, but I'll confess.
Father, please forgive me, for I have sinned ...
Oh, wait, that's the wrong kind of confession huh? ..
I've only made a few games and noone liked them.
.... never made a boss in a game.
.... never built a level editor
.... never plan out anything
.... never use extensions (maybe after purchase MMF2)
.... never completed a professional-looking game
My artwork is not up to par
.. coding is improving but still not efficient at all to what it should be and still a mess in many ways
.. brain is probably broken, I think I'm retarded
I am extremely slow at doing anything, as if the time cycle of my life revolves slower than others
. .. inefficient in all aspects of my life and my sloppy coding is the most efficient thing about me
