@Pan-Tosser: I'm diggin' the remixed barbarian drawing, can you animate it? It'd help alot.
Here's the walking animation so you can probably see how much trouble I've been having because I didn't know how to draw on the 45.

@Hayo: sorry dude, you're right, kinda hi-jacked the post and made it about me, didn't intend to, but really need to learn to animate better ... maybe it'll get some more people posting their art though at least eh?
I guess game over? ..
Sword and Shield guy: look closely at the shield and left arm as it moves .. the arm changes position and loses the straps.
Green sword swinger guy: the lines don't start at point A and go to point B. They start in the middle which is probably wrong.
I didn't realise either until after i posted em up.
I'm giving Pan-Tosser 100 pts anyway cause he came the closest by finding some interesting flaws and made a nice remix drawing.
Emphasis on the drawing .. pictures are worth more than words.
Yami got the ball rolling though, and gave good advice too. 50 pts for Yami.
Blood of the Ancient One, Seen only as Shadow, Faster than Lightning, Fierce as the Greatest Dragon, Nearly Invisible, Floating in a Dream, Entered through the Demon Door, Destroyer of Evil in a Realm with a Red Sky Scarred, Who could I be ?
@A.Lino: thank you for trying, but I had that bookmarked for a long time ... unfortunately it has nothing about the angle I want
Pan-tosser's drawing is the angle that I need, but I have yet to find something on animating like that. Of course I'm not really sure what to look up either so it makes it tough, now that Pan mentioned it though, I'm gonna try searching animating on the 45 angle ... see if that brings anything up ... does anyone know if there is a term used for that style/angle of animating game characters?
A.Lino, know of any site like that?
<warning:: rant about how the internet sucks ::warning>
You know, there's alot of spam and garbage in the way of the valuable info on the internet. I really wish they'd make another ending for all the stuff like blogs, tweets, mmorpg sites, rants, anything commercial (including pron), etc. ... maybe .crp (for crap) ... then hire government workers to move all those sites to their new respective spots (their current name minus the .com and plus the .crp) ... then the internet would be much more useful for the purpose it was originally meant for (intelligence gathering / information collection) Edit: for learning purposes, not the commercial get your info crap they do all the time ... OOORRR at the very least make a new ending for freely shared useful info .... oh and we'll need a nice new search engine that searches only the .useful section of the web.
Back on topic--- Here's the only thing I made with pivot so far:
Blood of the Ancient One, Seen only as Shadow, Faster than Lightning, Fierce as the Greatest Dragon, Nearly Invisible, Floating in a Dream, Entered through the Demon Door, Destroyer of Evil in a Realm with a Red Sky Scarred, Who could I be ?
@ mbk your right about finding things about animation on the web. But I won't worry to much about angle. Look at the movements in assassins creed. they don't stay fixed to one angle. Learning to draw different angles just adds to your artist repertoire. Making your animations more dymatic and interesting.
The best animators can pack many different angles into a movement. It also depends on the charactor design. With assassins creed they would of been stupid if the were never in a side view. Because of the bird hood design the costum has. So they perferd it over the 45.
I think your really close to stepping up your game though. Just think some about more about your overlap
