Do you consider yourself a programmer? A spriter? A game designer? A level maker? Cheese?
I consider myself a game designer, and I program because of the saying "If you want something done right, do it yourself." I consider programming a vehicle to express my ideas.
How about all of you? Post what you are and explain.
I consider myself a programmer. I program to learn. Once I've learned enough and someone has a use for my knowledge, I'll make a game, but until then I'll just keep learning.
Edit: Or if not a game, I guess I'll make an app. Those don't need graphics, and I've already made quite a few of them.
A game-designer, background artist, writer, and conceptual artist. I can't animate to save my life and while I CAN program, I find it tedious and boring.
A raving lunatic with an affection for complete and utter randomness. Relating to multi dimensional theories with the occasional time travel inferrence.
I guess I'd consider myself:
-A spriter
-A Programmer (C++/Klik)
-Game Designer
-Level Maker
-I can't have cheese, it makes me implode, so no, not cheese.
I'm terrible at making music and sound FX.
MOOSE!
Fine Garbage since 2003.
CURRENT PROJECT:
-Paying off a massive amount of debt in college loans.
-Working in television.
id say im a designer. i dont do superbig formulas just to get a pixel to do something or use huge arrays with stuff. i get an idea in my head and i make it.
so yea, overall designer who does a bit of everything except sound sample creation.
I'm a comic book artist, writer, and (non-video) game designer.
When I klik, I usually consider myself a programmer. I use my other venues for pretty pictures and creative ideas, so I look at kliking as an almost mathematical challenge. I like to use simple tools to create complex results, and kliking fits the bill very satisyingly. Nowadays, most of the kliking I do is saved in a single .gam titled "Engine Tests".
One of these months I might post some of them as abandonware so y'all don't think I'm just a poser. Which isn't to say that I'm not.
I just went to the store today to buy some more cheese. Mmmm. Mozzerella makes for great quesadillas and grilled cheese sandwhiches.
"All of my life, I had wanted to be a comic book artist. It had been my one dream, my one goal."

i consider my self a clicker+programmer (php/html), a composer, a spriter (though only a moderately good one)....not much of a level designer..not in 2d anyway
lol! People are making a big deal about something. I wonder what ever it could be?
I think some people misunderstood my post. I wasn't talking about my kliking skills:
Design: designing traps to kill off the faeries!
spriting: hunting down poor helpless sprites(another term for faeries) and feeding them to the cheese!
backgrounds: camoflauging the trap!
3D: umm... 3 dingos?
Animation: ability to create a zombie army
special FX: ability to turn anything shiny
Programming: umm....
sounds: ability to be very quiet so the leprachauns won't notice me until I spring out to catch them
Music: crap...I can't think of anything!
If you want you all can be generous with yourselves and say you're really good at torturing small magical creatures too.
Programmer/Spriter/Game Designer... But I never finish a game, my harddrive is full of games with half a level. One of them is a game with an arm. Thats it. Yaya!
