That game was made for the Game Jam called "Pesky Powerups."
Story
The Earth is suffering from an unexplained threat. Papa Penguin has been saved by mysterious Golden Pork. He is the only penguin left alive, and all he has is a small egg. He suffers and conserves food, so his child could grow. He is Papa's last hope to save the penguin race. The seals, however, would do anything to get another piece of penguin meat for their stomachs.
Main Menu
You can register in the game with your GameJolt account. Just click "GameJolt Login" button on the title screen and enter your name and game token in the specified fields. Then click "Login" button. If you did everything right, you'd immediately get an achievement for your GameJolt account. There are a lot of achievements in the game, so it's better to log in as you begin playing.
Also you can click "Power-ups" button to see the power-ups you have collected. To go back to the menu, click on "Back" button.
"Exit" button, can you imagine, lets you close the game.
And, last but not least, "Play" button. Click it to begin your adventure.
Game
You start your game right at your igloo. The main objective of the game is collecting power-ups, which are represented by different fishes. Almost each fish gives you some bonus that helps you find another power-ups. Some of them are very easy to find, while some of them are hidden soundly. There are some kinds of enemies, which will try to kill you. At first, you'll just have to avoid them. You can see all your current power-ups by clicking on the button at the right bottom corner. To go back to your game, click on "Back" button. If you lose all your health, you'll get to game over screen - but don't worry! You'll be able to respawn with all the power-ups you had.
Controls
To move use arrow buttons.
You can jump in the water. While swimming, press shift to dive. Your oxygen is limited, so you'll have to come up from under the water sometimes. Diving can help you avoiding enemies.
After getting certain power-ups, you'd also be able to dig treasures and drop bombs. To dig a hole, press "Ctrl", and to drop a bomb, press "Z". All the treasures are buried next to the objects that you can't find anywhere else on the map. Bombs, of course, let you attack and defeat enemies. Finally. Now you're the bane of all seals (but not the ■■■■■ ■■■■■... Never mind). Bombs work on surface AND underwater, but underwater they deal less damage, but have bigger range. Digging also works both on surface and underwater, and there ARE underwater treasures. Both these functions have cooldown so they're not too OP. Also your maximum bomb capacity is 5 and they take some time to refill.
Hints
Sometimes your penguin says something. You can read his thoughts on the left bottom corner. Sometimes he can tell you a hint to find another power-up, so read carefully!
Save Points
There are some save points, after contact with which you save your position. Next time while loading the game frame you will spawn next to the save point you've contacted last time. Also, you can jump between your save points by clicking on their icons on the right side of the screen or just by pressing "1", "2", "3"... you got the point.
Q&A
Q: Do you have to dig the entire map or do you just dig in certain places?
A: Every buried treasure is located near the object that can be seen only in this exact part of the map.
Q: Can ■■■■■■ ■■■■■ be killed with bombs?
A: Every kind of enemy can be killed, but some of them are very tough.
Q: My bomb won't damage the barrier. What should I do?
A: Try searching for power-up that solves your problem.
Q: I didn't get the achievement on GameJolt, even though completed the objective of it.
A: Check your internet connection and make sure you're logged in. All the achievements are getting claimed immediately if you're logged in.
Q: How does the save system work?
A: Game saves automatically every time you find power-up, kill enemy, find save point or teleport to save point.
Q: Who the hell is Golden Pork?
A: I have no idea.
