hi, my name is chloe and, well, im new to this. ive always liked games and a friend gave me a copy of the games factory and i came across this website. what the best advice anyone can give to get me started?
Welcome to TDC! Make sure you have a look at the articles and downloads sections especially. The projects section shows what we're all up to and you can start your own stuff too. Also check out the latest klikcast episode, it shows the entries in a competition we just had.
If you ever need any help with your games or anything, we're just a post away!
thats alot to look at! would it be worth it to get multimedia fusion 2? im debating on buying it or not. i watched the klikcast thing and it was cool, i liked the random song in the middle! is there any good step by step tutorials on how to use it? i learn better that way.
If you have the money, go for it. There are a (very) few of us (myself included) who prefer TGF1's interface, but MMF2 is more powerful and stable. I'll be getting MMF2 when I can afford it. I don't have any links on me at the moment for beginner tutorials... You can download the MMF2 demo and check the choco-break tutorial if you'd like.
yeah im messing with the MMF2 demo right now, and i think it feels alot better. the choco-break tutorial was good but it really didnt go into much, and ive already seen alot nicer stuff on this website already. what is construct?
and yeah the construct subject is kinda touchy, but for gods sake please stop using the argument "scirra are a bunch of criminals".
Not only nobody gives a flying fuck about whether the original creator broke a stupid nda or not, nobody ever proved that and ashley/tigerworks already denied the story several times.
So,
Construct is free, has hardware acceleration, embedded physics engine, and is updated at a quick rate. However construct still isn't very stable.
On the other hand, MMF2 is stable, has a huge community supporting it, has several extensions and you can do java apps with it (still doesn't support every extension but well it's a start). However it's not free, still doesn't have proper hardware acceleration, and is updated really, really slowly.
