GOTM... I MEAN W! :D
News posted 7th April, 2003 by ShadowCaster
OK, it's been a while, but I've been busy with many things, not to mention getting DC running on the new server! :) So, I've kept you waiting long enough... THE WINNER IS Rhys Davies! His game, Pop! won the GOTW by just 2 votes, narrowly beating Music Dancer.

Next week's GOTW will feature:
Bubble Ghost, Alien Escape, Jellibeanarians DM, MegaBattle!, Law Enforcement 2020, Baddie Burning Bonaza, Fishhead 3, Bob The Butcher, Minigame Madness 2 & Longbow Fury

For once I'm glad that not everyone put screenshots, and not everyone made sure their screenshots worked properly, because it meant less work for me! It was hard enough cropping all the game submissions down since the last GOTW to what you see above ... And there's A LOT of good games in there (trust me, they're the best lot of games I've seen in a long time!) so be sure to check them all out, and dont forget to vote!

In other news, the links in the top menu should be working now, and you should be able to submit articles again. Sorry about that, whoever coded those particular parts [looks at clubsoft] used an absolute URL instead of a relitave URL O_o

Brandon is looking for people who want to make levels for his game: Diamond 3! He's uploaded a level editor here, and if you create something you think would be worthy, email your creation to him at goldansilver2000@aol.com.

That's all for now!

ShadowCaster, how are the games selected for GOTW? Cos my "Jellibeanarians DM" game is kind of crappy and incomplete... and i'm really surprised to see it there! And if one of my games appeared here before, will my future games be disqualified for future GOTWs? Just asking, thanks.

Sam: The selection isnt very technical... I usually try to get around 8 or 9 games in the GOTW each week. The only requirement is that it has screenshots. If there isnt enough games to make up 8 or 9, I'll sometimes accept demos, apps, etc. If there are too many games, I'll remove some that dont have very good descriptions, or if the comments/reviews havent been very good. As far as your game goes, the screenshots looked pretty good and it had received some nice comments, so it made it to the list. Obviously there is more games in this GOTW than normal... this is because there had been around 80 submissions since the last GOTW so there was a lot of good games that all deserved to be in the poll. I think if your game even made it to the GOTW this week then it has to be on the right track in some respect ;)
