9 years ago i created one of my first platformer game called: The Secret of the lost statue.

In the game you play Mitch who has to make a emergency jump from his plane after it ran out of fuel, he lands on a mysterious island where he breaks a mystical box, by mistake... of course.

Now if broken this box could destroy the world! The only way to undo this, is to find a lost statue that can fix the broken box and save the world! Now under pressure of your new found friend "contin" its up to you to find that statue.

-- Some spiffy facts --

Secret of the lost statue was released in 1997, it was one of my first platformers and yes it used the -gulp- normal platform movement. Also it had a mix of used knp/tgf sprites (zeb) and original stuff.

When it was released it got some cool comments and a sequel was even created later on. I just played it and yes you can laugh at the typo's and the bad platform movement but there is still something about this game that made me play it longer then i should have.

If you are in the mood for a weird wacky platformer from the mid 90's, give this one a go.

Whats with you guys and freaking out about the normal platform movement. Sure, you may be able to make it a lot better by custom movements, but geez you can still make a fun game with normal movement.

Greasy has a good point, i could never eeally understand the bash against normal platform movement, you can still have a fun game with it, even more so if its a beginner who is making the game folks should not bring the game down just because he used the normal movement.

@ Rikus: I' sure Steve would be more than happy to explain why build in platworm movement is a radioactive biohazard. I for one have just one thing to say about it: head sticks to the platform above while jumping.

And by the way - a huge mistake was made - I was the first to give the correct answer to your challange. You just missed it, because I posted it as a comment on the front page article, not here. 500 points should be mine. Thats NOrFAIR!
