In the meantime, I want to play a new Mario & Luigi RPG, or a new Mario RPG in general. They could make a Mario & Luigi 3, put it on Wii with 3D cel-shaded graphics, but it would still play on a 2D eight directional plane. I think that would be cool.
Trying out the other emoticons.
I'd be happy if it went back to being Mario RPG. They've been getting far away from the RPG lately.
Frankly that sounds like a story idea for a sonic game, not a way to save a series that has been failing in the gameplay department. I don't think anyone ever played sonic for the deep plot. You could go back in time and have Mark Twain write Sonic Ye Olde Hedgehog for 700 pages but if they don't do something about how it plays there's no point.

For a good Sonic game, maybe it could be on a 2D plane at all times, with only things found in the first Sonic games, i.e. loops, corkscrews, hills, caves, breakable blocks, play as Super Sonic in any stage, accurate camera, good physics and platform engine...
Oh god why have i not said Dizzy yet? The last games came out in 1993!
However i think time wont have been good to the series.
It's one of those series that wont transfer well to 3d. It would have to stay 2d so i guess the DS would be the only option. I guess the touch screen could be a real time inventory instead of the cumbersome menu's of the original games.
The new Sonic game looks kinda similar to that. It does break into the 3rd dimension but it looks like most of it is sidescrolling. Unfortunately it looks more like Sonic Rush than the old Sonic games. I think at some point everyone forgot sonic was about platforming first and loops and stuff 2nd. They keep trying to adapt it to where you do all this platforming and enemy fighting but you never stop moving. But it doesn't work. All the sonic games on the genesis had more of an alternating pace. Platforming section, high speed section, platforming section, etc. Sonic Adventure had that but somewhere along the way it started dissapearing and gave way to nothing but speed. Sonic Advance 2 was the first 2D game to do the all speed theme. . . they went back to the old way for Sonic Advance 3 though.
I loved the first Mario & luigi superstar saga... never got around to playing the second. It would make a good wiiware game. Everyone always brags about Super Mario RPG, I'll probably buy it on VC. Dang! JustinC beat me to the Sonic comment. Where are you getting these emoticons?
You mean these? It turns out that they are all listed at http://www.create-games.com/smilies.asp I noticed it today. Seriously, the waving one needs some work on that hand animation. Maybe it should be smaller and better drawn to match the smile.
On a side note, there should be a preview post button when you're posting on threads.
I agree with JustinC on the Sonic bit.
I've heard rumor of Paper Mario being rereleased on DS, after I already went and bought it on VC. That was a fun game until I ran out of things to do, and it isn't like Paper Mario:The Thousand Year Door, where you can play the story after the game is beaten. You always have to load up your file to before Bowser loses.

Last I checked, I was connected to the Internet. I didn't type in the address, so it must be... gasp! the third one!
Let's bring Rare back to Nintendo. Then I can play a Conker game besides Conker's Pocket Tales for Game Boy Color. That's a fun game.

I think your connection temporarily failed.
Also nothing good came out of Rare going to Microsoft.
I've wanted a paper mario DS forever. Not a port though, since I already have it for 64. I'm having a psychic prediction that Conker will return soon... perhaps for Wii, perhaps not. I also think the 64 Conker may come to VC. I've been having trouble with the site as well. It takes forever to load and I get "service unavailable" alot.
