This is somewhat of my "comeback game", first game in over a year (except for a demo of a game I never got any further with). It is partly a prequel and partly a spoof to the 4Four games. The game features:

-4 challenging levels, including forest, desert, ocean and lava level. Each with their own twist.
-Improved platform movement to avoid sticking to ceilings.
-Humorous plot.
-Extras rewarded for beating the game.
-Original and "Classic" graphics.
-Makes way for my next game...

Thanks to Zaratustra for letting me make the game (you can download the original 4Four here: http://zara.verge-rpg.com), and Spram for letting me use some of his art. Also thanks to Chris(Prismal Software), Gav, Sean, Cody and ZeldaFreak108 for beta testing. Finally I'd like to thank anyone playing, commenting or reviewing it

This looks awful.

Never use recolered Megaman sprites. At least don't use ones that look absolutely crap anyway.

I see why you havent been doing a game in a year

I would have enjoyed this, but there is a recurring bug that prevents me from retrying a level. Every time I die, the game freezes when showing the intro level "cinematic" again. The lives/continue system is as lazy as they come. Other than that, it was pretty nifty while it lasted.

Hmmm, I'm not having the same crashing problem as I was a few hours ago. But it still crashes often enough to make a 4-level run impossible. This game needs a password system or something.

Nice paralax scrolling, those foreground trees don't at all look like they're sellotaped to the camera. I'd like to offer some constructive critisism, but it would be too long, so I'll just say don't make games anything at all like this in future.

ug, pulp fiction music for every level. ug, game freezes so much. bad game. bad.

This isn't meant to be a serious game, it began as a joke and turned into this in less than 2 weeks, and is already better than I originally expected, minus the crashing. Also, it seems more crashprone on individual computers. I've never had any crashes outside of the levels, but one or two of my beta testers had the pre-level screen crash, and this makes it really hard for me to fix. The randomness of the crashes makes it hard to fix as well. Everybody hates the graphics. I'd say that is probably it's smallest problem. Shadow99, there is a password system kind of, near the end of 3rd level, before the boss, you get instructions for resuming at that point. That is where most crashes occured. When you complete the game, you get codes for getting to any level. And the infinite tries are because most of my beta testers thought it was way too hard. Finally, the game will makes much more sense if you play 4Four or 4Four Spramy Edition first. Again, the game isn't a masterpiece and it was never meant to be. Improving it would take too much time from my next game (I suspect you all go "oh no!" when I say that).

I hope no one thinks I didn't learn from this. New game will have: 1. Little ripped graphics (edited megaman sprite will be in it, but with new colors and further enhancements, rest is original) 2. Better gameplay (no chrashes, saner pace, custom engine, more adventuring than the straight-to-end concept of this one) 3. Varying music (including the pulp fiction theme in an appropiate place) I just hope people won't be scared away by the crappiness of 3Three. Though, the new game will probably make more sense if you've played this first or at least knows it's story and ending (if anyone want to see it, and don't want or can't play through, just press 5 at the Phred intro (where I brag that I have the bigger octopus), you can similarly press 1-4 or 6 to get any level or extras.

um... dude.... the movement frustraits the hell out of me (he moves too far even if i just tap the button to make him move).. and I keep getting error messages... I got to you're octopus, but it crashed once I finally saw it =P this game is seriosly buggy and needs a great deal of fixin

Yeah. I finally figured out why it crashes, it has something to do with the ending I think. I dunno if I will make a "version 2.0" or something. Maybe when I'm done with my next game. And you can press O on the 3Three title screen to return to the octopus.

This game is gone from my webspace, to prepare for future releases. If anyone wants to see how horrible the game was, send me a mail.
