Last updated 01/01/09, with new snippets by Pixelthief & Neomonkey.

This is a simple little tool to help organise "snippets" - small reusable pieces of MMF code.

It makes it much quicker and easier to create complicated expressions such as for the distance/angle between two objects. All you need do is enter the names of the objects as they appear in MMF, and Snippet Manager generates the code - ready to paste directly into MMF.

It comes with quite a lot of pre-made snippets, and it's easy to add your own. The readme contains more detailed instructions.

Wow, that's amazing! I think they would like it at the Clickteam forums, too!

Thanks I'm glad people find it useful.
If anyone has any thoughts on snippets/features to add, I'd really love to hear them. If I get a lot I'll put together an add-on pack.

Also, I've fixed problems with a couple of the snippets to calculate angles.

Latest snippets can be downloaded here: http://cid-b1e7ee094271bbda.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Public/Snippets.zip

This includes the makings of a 3D Engine (courtesy of Dragonguy; can't guarantee it works yet), another random number snippet, and a snippet to help load map data from arrays using fastloops.

It mayby could be useful to have somekind of updater in the application, so Newest snippest could be just loaded automatically.

Posted by Sketchy 30th October, 2008

I would lke to do that. I few other people have suggested it too. The fact is, I just don't have a clue how to go about it

I'm making some other changes first, but expect some requests for help in the forums soon

I don't see a rating less then 5, why is the rating not 5 then?

Lemme see if I can help the score since it's so useful.
Also, you might want to add an example since I am confused on using the Zelda Scrolling.

no lie this is dead amazingly useful. Nice to see my name mentioned there too Image The distance formulas were also very impressively well researched! I was getting ready to point out that normal euclidean formula will not work on large integers, but you even included the approximation formula which is soooo much more efficient, and allows all digits of inputs. I am genuinely impressed!

good lord that sped up my FPS engine. Now if I could only flesh out some of the search formulas for the Z-axis rendering of sprites, it would be solid enough to create 640x480 games without any slowdown!
