This is my entry for the 20 event competition (though I might change it slightly before submitting, we will see!)

The premise is simple; try to duplicate the original artworks as accurately (and quickly) as possible, using a range of 4 tools, each a different size. The bigger brushes will let you paint quicker, but are a bit messier and harder to control, whereas the finer brushes (and finest of all, the pen- only available on the final stage) give more finesse and precision, but are slower to cover a large area with. Points are awarded in three categories: Form, Composition and Speed. Form and Composition are a bit complex, but suffice to say that the more accurate you are the better your scores will be Speed on the other hand is very simple- complete the picture quickly for the most points possible.

Scoring 50 or higher on any stage will unlock the next stage. You can revisit the main menu at any time, which has pretty dossiers showing each of your available missions. There are only 3 missions in this 20 event competition version, but if it proves to be a hit I might expand it to include further levels, and possibly even a level editor (I have a good idea of how this can actually be achieved, but definitely not within 20 events!)

Any feedback appreciated =

Well, this is okay, for a 20 event game. It's a clever idea, yeah, however the code really doesn't take the gameplay very far for very long, and could use some improvements itself. It's a unique idea (better played with a tablet, I might add...), but the code really limits the game's length.

The last level was pretty interesting.

I didn't beat it that time.

I then realized I could beat it by doing this.

Hey. I'm a freakin' master forger.

Like I said, it's a neat idea, but when limited to 20 events you can only take things so far. It would've been better had it been an unlimited, unrestricted project altogether. It would actually be pretty fun on the arcade.

Nonetheless, despite 3 levels, I commend you for your work.

Haha yeah I'd noticed the cheat with filling in splodges of black, but had trouble making the scoring system punish that without making it too difficult for the legitimate attempts- in any case, you still won't be able to get very high scores (more than 60 or so) with that sort of trickery

It was never going to be much of a game with such limited events / frames, but thought it was a fun enough little idea; I'm always tempted by the low-commitment competitions, e.g. 24 hours, or 20 events etc, since it's very easy to get a whole game finished. I think it could have potential as an iphone/android/whatever app possibly, even if the small screen would make it torture to play

I'll try to put it on the arcade after the competition ends; will be interesting to see how people go at it

Really impressive. And made it all in 20 events? wow!

My game for that competition is done too. I'm just waiting for it to be released here in TDC. Jumping Sticks, search for it later if you'd like to see it.

That game rocks! Hope that if you win you give me 5 dollars!

Haha thanks man I'd be very surprised to win though- this competition should bring in loads of entries, and from the other one that I can remember, there were some really cool games, despite the restrictive limits.

I'll be sure to check out your game when it appears in the list!

A thing about the screenshots: PNG is good for low-colour and quality-retaining pictures. However, with those screenshots of photos, using JPEG would have been a better choice (except for screenshot 3).

Now, I'm off to try a game!

That was pretty nicely done. The expert level is just insane, but I still managed to score ~47 on my first try.

Fun for a short while, and technically impressive!
