Some of you may remember my old game on the V-Cade, "3dKillerRobotHunter"
I would prefer if you don't

This game, the not so longawaited sequel, has been sitting around gathering dust on my C drive for about 2-3 years, so I figured I'd finally let it breathe a little

I still haven't added in a menu or "you lose screen", so there goes the presentation.

The "3d" engine is made from scratch, based off of the single-detector work of chansey.

6 Different Weapons
3 Different Maps
5+ Identical Robots
A quasi-3d engine
Destructable Terrain
No effort towards presentation

How to play:
Kill everything, then take the exit.

[Ctrl] = Fire Weapon
[Shift] = Strafe
[/] = Switch Run/Walk

The Weapons:

Laser [Default] -- Fires in a stream
Minigun -- Aim it, shoot it, and fire. Runs through ammo quickly
Shotgun -- Aim in general direction of a robot and fire it
Phasor -- Fires slower then minigun, but does more damage
Rocket Launcher -- Can Destroy Terrain
Behemoth -- Destroys everything in a short radius around you, including terrain

No offense, but this really sucks. The resolution of your line of sight work is really low, and you didn't fix the Raycaster fishbowl effect.

Maybe this is only a Low Beta version ??? - or no... + My advice: !!! Fix those graphics and FAST !!!

I was going to say, this was at least 2 years old :/ It hasn't aged well either. But I don't suppose you will update it now :P

it was abandonware 2 years ago Hey if you have a solution to the fishbowl effect I'd love to see it, but if you've tried messing around with raycasting you'd have figured out why I gave up on it

This needs a lot of work. Most of the graphics are gradients, and the robots look like they're drawn in paint. :P Also, the 3D needs a lot of work. I can't tell if I've been in one place before, because almost everything looks the same. I understand this is a two year old game, so nice work as far as old games go. ;)
Posted by ThePodunkian 27th July, 2004 I've tried messing around with raycasting, it's not difficult.

*gasp* ^ Release that now, bitch.
Posted by ChrisB 27th July, 2004

Hey, you just got screenies of Gloom and pasted your own sprites on that
Posted by ThePodunkian 27th July, 2004

What are you talking about Chris?
Posted by Pixelthief 27th July, 2004

Stop viewing this! You've run through my bandwidth on my pics twice in one day. So much for my avatar >_<
Posted by Justin 27th July, 2004

You could just take two of the pics down. They all look the same. . .

"and the robots look like they're drawn in paint" What's wrong with paint?
Posted by Pixelthief 28th July, 2004

Those are the robots from the original v-cade... Made this around 2-3 years ago, and god knows how many years before that the original
