Game of the Week Winner

Titan Omega Revelations is a space shooter, similar to such classics as R-Type, UN Squadron and co. TOR depicts the life changing adventure of 4 pilots in search of the elusive and destructive 'Core' whose aim is to destroy earth.

The half-sequel to the original Titan Omega Revelations.

This new game is a much improved version featuring snazzy new features (taken from the TOR minisite);

-Massive bug fix. All known bugs fixed (!!)
-Speed increase, in more ways than one
-Health! Can take up to 5 shots
-Ballistics! Every so often a giant explosion of lasers helps clear the screen
-Checkpoints
-Lengthening of levels
-More dynamics and graphics in levels
-New! sub-tasks for each level
-13 much bigger levels
-Briefing scene prior to level
-Ranking system (level complete screen)
-All difficulties open from start
-Shop for team
-Speed level-ups, after so many bad guy kills
-Support for 4 button Joypads
-Team Command system
-Huge Team AI boost
-Alternative ship modes (Change from 3 sets during game play)
-New bosses!
-New "Minimode" extras
-New explosions
-Ultra Quality graphics mode
-Story is much clearer
-Lots of new enemies
-Easier and faster game experience, except Hero mode

Just one bug though; for some reason windowed mode dosn't work my desktop PC, it may not work for some other people too.

Enjoy!

found a bug,i were playing using savefile number 2 , in normal mode, i were on the 9th level (i think), i relaunched the game, picked savefile number 1, and started a game on Hard mode, after a while , i wanted to return to the savefile2 , but it disapeared !!

Posted by Batchman 8th September, 2004

now i relanched the game and there is no savefile1 any more ...

Posted by Batchman 8th September, 2004

there's really a problem with savefile, once you don't pick a savefile for 2 time it disapear, i'm going to make backup ....

Wow, this game is fun! I died on the dragon boss in Deimos, but whenever I tried to continue, it scrolls a little bit to the right and stops without the boss emerging.

Posted by ChasetheCheese 8th September, 2004

Very cool, this must be my favourite series on the site :P

Posted by Dr. James MD 8th September, 2004

i put a little failsafe on the Deimos boss. if it stops for too long on a boss then it advances to the next level. just incase something got seriously messed up

Posted by Teapot 8th September, 2004

I am a very unhappy bunny as I have to wait till I get home to dl this, which is not for another 7 hours!

Posted by danjo 8th September, 2004

wtf 12 thumbs up and 6 thumbs down = 66.67% - typical TDC

Posted by Dr. James MD 8th September, 2004

can someone who gave it a thumbs down explain where the game went wrong? out of curiosity :)

Posted by Radix 8th September, 2004

The thumbs system sucks anyway. I'd just ignore it.

It looks badass game, but problem is you need super computer for this game... this is lag king game (im running at 256 ram, 64mb geforce 2, pentium 4, plays EverQuest just fine). But at level 2, where you fly pass mine bomb, my team shooting at them then massive sparkles coming off them, then i get like .5 FPS, I could go make myself a sandwich until sparkles effect fade away. Could you make lite version? like less spark burst, less number of trail, less background effects, etc.. anything more friendly to slower computer. I haven't vote yet, i'm willing to vote thumb up if you could make less laggy version.

srry jay not my typ XP

Posted by Radix 8th September, 2004

Another two vowels would've stopped you looking like an idiot, idiot.

Posted by Keatonian 8th September, 2004

Wow, this "Nuklear-Productions" guy sounds like a real bi.... Actually, I think I'll just stop there.

Posted by Snakesoft 9th September, 2004

Like last version, it's still a slideshow on my PC. Maybe 800 mhz and 256mb ram are too few for a lo-res sidescroller, perhaps Doom3 runs faster.. mah.. :)

Posted by The Chris Street 9th September, 2004

It slows down for me on Level 2, at the exact same point. On another point, Nuklear-Pro, shut the hell up. He's not selling it. Give some contructive critisism.

Posted by CYS 9th September, 2004

Speed increases? I just detest the slow speed you have earlier so i stop playing after 5 seconds. Woohoo, now that it's faster, i gonna download it!

Posted by Zane 9th September, 2004

if your having slowdown problems, click on options in the launcher, you can set the graphics settings down;)

Posted by Cuthalion 9th September, 2004

Can you tell me what's the name of the song that's playing in the trailer?

Posted by Dr. James MD 9th September, 2004

about the speed; it even runs slow on my desktop P4 2ghz machine. maybe i should have shrunk the levels instead of making them bigger :) nevermonkey... if it runs slow just turn the graphics to low. but as the bad guys are killed off the speed does pick up. The trailer song? Navras (track 16), off the Matrix Revolutions OST.

Urgh Human Race level is sooooooooo annoying.

Posted by Teapot 10th September, 2004

windowed doesn't work though :( , the launcher always makes it full no matter what I set it to... no biggy though...

Posted by Teapot 10th September, 2004

Being a TOR veteran, Easy is a little too easy, Hero it is!

Posted by Dr. James MD 10th September, 2004

Human Race was inspired by Catalyst ;) go! download! Hero mode is bloody solid it took me about 2 hours to beat it. and even then i got an E overall grade :( second time round i just scooped an A grade.

Posted by Batchman 10th September, 2004

i finished the game in Hard mode without completing medium mode, i think the medium mode's bonus should be unlocked ? hard is a little easy i must admit ...

Posted by Dr. James MD 10th September, 2004

its hard to balance mate, didnt want people crying over how hard it was last time but at the same time i didnt want it fly-through easy. I wanted the difficulties to have their own unlockables, and not have it possible to scoop them all at once so that it gives incentive to see the whole game and gives the fans something more to work for.

Posted by Cuthalion 10th September, 2004

Thanks Jay!

Posted by X_Sheep 10th September, 2004

I beat the Deimos boss the first time I encountered him, but when I beat him nothing happened :(

Posted by X_Sheep 10th September, 2004

Your failsave in the Deimos level doesn't work either :P

Posted by Dr. James MD 10th September, 2004

have you got the new version? the first one i uploaded was a Install maker test XD heh something i did a while before the current uploaded one. thats got the fix

Posted by Davide Mascolo 11th September, 2004

Jay, it's good to see that you treasured all the comments on the first version. I was very disappointed back then, because for all the effort you put in making the game, it was ruined by bad balancement and playability - I got tired, annoyed and frustrated even before beating the first level. Now, you made TOR finally enjoyable, and I could appreciate the weapons, the great care for the design of levels (with multi-parallax scrolling too) and the many options. Pity for the wingmen, better than before but still quite stupid - even if I put them in "Hide" formation, they could die a lot. Anyway, in many cases they proved to be of good assistance. I finished the Easy difficulty in Omega Mode, then Normal in Ballistic Mode, and I'm going to try Hard difficulty now. Great work!

Posted by BeamSplashX 11th September, 2004

You know what's funny? A lot of people bashed Jay for advertising his game as good, and then hated him when it came out, like they assumed Jay wouldn't fix his game. Of course, that's understandable, seeing how most people ignore their failed games, even if it just calls for a bug fix.

Posted by Silveraura 11th September, 2004

Argh, it stops downloading at 21%! Damn, this game looks tight, but I cant download it. :-(

Posted by KlikFactory 12th September, 2004

It's good, but kinda easy... In the later levels you have better stuff, but it's mostly just the same enemies... Gets kinda boring just tapping ctrl and watching everything die instantly.

Posted by KlikFactory 12th September, 2004

Oh, and I should mention that I tried the "Hero" difficulty. It's hard at first, but once you manage to get a few weapon upgrades it just snowballs until you're killing everything instantly. I'm not bothering you to change it again or anything, it's pretty good anyways.

Posted by cake 13th September, 2004

Lol. I was expecting Dustin G to come in with complaints, but I still chuckled when you came anyway. Funny stuff.

Posted by Noyb 13th September, 2004

Actually, the ship gets extremely twitchy once you upgrade the engines all the way. Of course, this actually makes some of those "race" levels even harder! (Still haven't beaten level 10- The Core...)

Posted by 17th September, 2004

Looks nice! I'll try to download it on my modem:P

Posted by Dr. James MD 17th September, 2004

try uploading :| took just under 2 hours

Posted by Kris 18th September, 2004

I set it to windowed mode and the damn thing went fullscreen anyway

Posted by Lutz 20th September, 2004

Unfortunately on a Amd 450 MHz not playable :(

Posted by Dogzer 21st September, 2004

great game, too bad performance for a computer only from 2001

Posted by António Vasconcelos 27th November, 2004

To bad it's too heavy for a pentium III @ 500 Mhz. Even with a good NVIDIA TNT 2 card it's too slooooooow. Retro games *should* not be that heavy... I think.

Ah yes, I remember this! Great game, even though it tore me apart.

Sadly another case of style over substance in my opinion.
