Full version of Shikun!

Shikun is a game where you simply collect chickens using either a net or bait. Bait will slow down or even stop the chickens making them easy targets to catch, but you only have a limited number of seeds! You must throw the chickens into the pen in the bottom right of the play area. Bonus Items are dropped on screen too, there are 4 types and one bogus one. You can access a read me style level from the game menu

There are 6 worlds in the game, each with its own theme, obstacle set and even enemies on later levels. Each world also has 5 levels knocking the level number up to 30.

As well as all that, for those who complete the game on Hard you will be given access to a minigame! Those who then score more than 10000 on the minigame gain access to a Secret Game. But in order to get to Hard mode you need to complete the game on Easy and Medium. There is a lot of replayability and trying to get that Secret Game is well worth it. The game saves and loads automatically too

The game has 13 characters, 5 of which are local friends of mine and the rest are part of another click community. Players have 5 individual stats;

-Speed- Overall speed
-Anger- How fast the chickens will run away from you
-Stealth- The higher this is the closer you can get to the chickens
-Power- How long you can hold a chicken for without it escaping
-Stamina- Length of time you can run for.

All the grahpics in the game are mine, the music is from various online MOD musicians.

enjoy! -Titan

Posted by Louis Moon 24th December, 2003

hate to inform you all, but MOHAA sucks. except for the omaha beach bit.

Posted by xXAaronXx 24th December, 2003

Those chickens are ripped dont lie, you may have added animations, but thats it.

Posted by Louis Moon 24th December, 2003

who cares about ripped gfx, its better than MOHAA

Posted by RyGuyX 24th December, 2003

I dunno if Jay didn't realize it or what -cuz i know him and trust what he says- but he actually did use the chickens from Zelda, as it can be seen in theese screenshots. http://www.kimball-law.com/hg/sss/zjchickens.bmp The one on the left is from Zelda and the one on the right is from Jay's game. The only difference is the colors. By the way, Jay - good game except for the random teleporters and the evil evil evil evil evil evil cloud - you know what I'm talking about.

Looks cool...too bad it wasn't an adventure game thou, like Zelda or something...the only thing from Zelda here is the chickens... Dl:ing... :)

Posted by AfterStar 25th December, 2003

Nice game! Dodger YOU CAN'T COMPARE A KLIK GAME WITH A "REAL" GAME due to many reasons! And Jay White are those chickens Ripped? Not that i care.........BUT as you can see EVERYONE here is "VERY anxious" to know if they are actually RIPPED or ORIGINAL (LOL ;) )!

Posted by Dr. James MD 25th December, 2003

for god sakes i didnt rip them! the only graphics i ripped was... **thinks**... none! i do not rip. on games like Shikun i take a shot (usually with all them graphical filters u get) in ZSnes, open the pic in picture viewer, put on Windows Blinds so i can make the pic viewer always on top and have paint on in the background. i try to replicate the pic pixel by pixel but under my own style. like the shading, its totally different. so are the colours. and because the chickens on the Rom of Zelda are doubled the original size with the filters added; they look very much different from how they do when normal sized without filter. i did the same thing in Titan Exodus. The ships in that are my own replicate of R-Type 2 (amiga version) ships. so in the end they are neither original nor ripped. ripping is bad i never recommened anyone to do it. but replicates is ok, as you spent the time to make them yourself.

Posted by Talvara 25th December, 2003

I agree. the main thing about ripping is that it shows lazyness. I use Tactics ogre like characters in games (Dont have any Fully complete games *Shame*). but it realy hurts when people say you rip since i put love and attention into every character (humm musnt think on that one for long...). So please don't bring down a good game becouse of some CHICKENS!

ignore them, its fun

Posted by Kris 25th December, 2003

playing the game that is, not ignoring people

Posted by hey hey shoe 25th December, 2003

weeell i guess those chickens came from your powerful imagination too?

Posted by hey hey shoe 25th December, 2003

hey mr. smartypants the game would've been a lot greater if u'd drawn your own chickens...

Posted by Dr. James MD 25th December, 2003

funny, i dont see how Gameplay would have been improved by graphics. unless you think like new console game makers (better graphics means better gams!!) *ahem* it dosnt affect how good the game is AT ALL

Posted by Talvara 25th December, 2003

why is it that all games turn into a battle of Ethics (the comments that is) Anyway Nice game (couldnt stop playing) I hope all the crittics here wont stop you from posting other great games

Posted by 25th December, 2003

Wow, this game is cool and fun! I can't just understand why didn't you made it with fullscreen?

Posted by Dr. James MD 25th December, 2003

i was experimenting with MMF to get full screen but it wasnt working. see ive only been doing TGF stuff in MMF; never used Fastloops, clear screen or anything like that. i tried fullscreening as an option but it didnt work. However there is a way to modify a shortcuts command line to enable this? or so im told. id also like to note that people who downloaded it before 1300 hours on the 24th (i think there was 10 people) have got a buggy version which loads up a different level when selecting DreamWorld using Level Select. might make a sequel someday. there are things i wanted in this game that never made it. Things like Level Maker, Character Creator, double the amount of levels. but im still proud with the outcome, specially with the feedback ive gotten :)

Posted by Kris 25th December, 2003

...not to say that ignoring people can't be fun.

Posted by Kris 25th December, 2003

setting the screen to fullscreen then using "/NoF" as the commandline should force it to be windowed

Posted by Ashman 25th December, 2003

Well everyone seems to be ignoring you Kris...

Posted by cake 25th December, 2003

Awwww I got the annoying version that robs me of dreamworld! As for the chickens: Get over it and go and have some fun by just playing the frigging game, honestly who cares? Bloody fun game, I hate slow, I hate slow, I hate slow, I hate slow, I hate slow...

Posted by Kris 26th December, 2003

They always do, I may as well be talking to a brick wall sometimes. As a matter of fact that's exactly what I'm going to do. Bye.

Posted by Dr. James MD 26th December, 2003

i'm not ignoring you, i know how to get windowed from a full screen game thanks!

Posted by Dr. James MD 26th December, 2003

i just started work on an updated version which fixes a few bugs and Multiplayer with 6 game modes and 2 special multiplayer worlds and 1 new single player world. in more detail: Timed Chase: up to 8 players take turns on a level, after all players have finished the level a screen is displayed with times and announces the winner. Coop: only 2 players both on screen at once battle through the 6 worlds in order Darts: 2 players throw chickens at each other. first to 3 points wins there are more but i cant be bothered writing them all out some of the Multiplayer games will have a random level generator (with weather!) Does anyone think i should go through with it or do you all think its a waste of time?

Posted by Kris 26th December, 2003

multiplayer and weather definitely sound good. What about a larger screen, too? 640x480 maybe

Posted by Dr. James MD 26th December, 2003

yea good idea, i think multiplayer would work better on a higher res. i could even try online gaming but ive tried this a few times only for the efforts to fail

Posted by cake 26th December, 2003

i dont know if its really worth recoding a large portion to incorporate online multiplayer, however, I reckon all the other multiplayer things sound cool! :D I got up to the secret game too :D

Posted by Dr. James MD 27th December, 2003

i was thinkin last night that incorperating online battles would be the grandaddy of features. it wouldnt take long to recode either as i used a lot of Groups in this game. Secret Game shuts down a few grouped events and opens another set so its very easy to do. just have to press Paste 30 times ;) heh now where did i leave Moo2? hmmm

Posted by cake 27th December, 2003

Use MooClick mate, Moo2 is dead

Posted by ThePodunkian 27th December, 2003

Zed's dead baby. Zed's dead.

Posted by AfterStar 28th December, 2003

Great! I hate the final level! Its so frustating! I HATE SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW and the EVIL random teleport gates! But i like the game =) ! A online version would definetely be COOL!

Posted by Dr. James MD 28th December, 2003

**flutters eyelashes** can somebody else review this? im gonna fix the later levels in the game, especially the cloud that free's the chickens on the last level. also going to add a brand spanking new world; an ICE world! step on the ice and your sent into that direction until you hit something. and chickens can get frozen so you have to push them into a small fire to defrost them heh. Online playing is becoming a reality now; i can make the game on Dplay but ill be changing to MooClick. so Shikun Party is coming out within the next month or so

Posted by Dr. James MD 29th December, 2003

woo 100 downloads! alas i have bad news; i cannot make it online. MooClick is too complex for me, ive made a test app using Dplay and it should work fine for what i want to do. Multiplayer will still go in there, and other little features. going to add another item to Secret Game too.

Posted by Dr. James MD 30th December, 2003

constructive critisism please. why did it suck? the game uses 16 million colour palettes has incredibly detailed backgrounds and sprites with 5 frame walking animations and chickens with 4 different animation groups. i would hardly say the graphics are garbage.

I hope an admin deletes that bullshit review by Benton Hoofboy. Then I hope someone runs him over with a truck. What a f*cking idiot. "why bother make game when suck?" -benton Why bother speaking when you BARELY KNOW ENGLISH!

Posted by Dr. James MD 7th January, 2004

reviews can be deleted if like that cant they?

Posted by Mkingy 7th January, 2004

This game is sooooo amazing. I would reveiw it and give it a 9 or 10, but im not in the mood. plus i can't get past dark woods so it is pointless because i have hardly got anywhere on the game.

Posted by Dr. James MD 7th January, 2004

personally i think Dark Woods are the hardest levels. reduced vision can be so annoying cant it :) about a sequel; i was thinking more of an upgrade than anything. i want to double the number of existing levels, add in new characters, possibly even make your own. multiplayer is a definate! loads of minigames, possibly online scoreboard. as well as the usual bug fixes. but this is after 2 more projects im doing :(

Posted by Crazy Diamond 28th January, 2004

Hard as hell. The slowdown made me punch the desk. The graphics made me sit back with my beer and go "Yeeeeeah dude". The whole concept made me wonder what substance your on. But i still love it.

Posted by steve 3rd February, 2004

Excellent graphics, good music (borrowed though?) nice sounds and effects, although I really hated the power ups; the pausing of the whole game and flash is too over the top when there are SO many powerups. I found myself trying to dodge the collectables just to keep the game flowing. Maybe i'm slow today but I also found the "dont run too long or the character wont be able to move" system a bit obscure and highly annoying at first. I love your logo though :P great design overall I rate this game 7/10
