A platform shooter based on the Turrican games for various home computers and consoles.
I decided to make something whilst I waited for Phizzy to make an advanced level editor for Lil' pirate. This is actually based on the same engine and editor (albeit an older version)

There are 3 large levels with lots of powerups and enemies to shoot.

There aren't any bosses because as ive said before i HATE making them, and would have left them to last if i had finished this properly.

The music is ripped from various games, level 1 is from Turrican 2 on the Commodore 64 and level 2 is from Turrican 2 on the Atari st.

Controls
--------

Button 1 = Jump
Button 2 = Fire (Hold for 360 degree beam)
Button 3 = Special (Hold down + Button 3 to enter Ball mode)

There are three different weapons to collect throughout the levels. Collecting more of the same weapon will increase it's power. You can also collect specials and a shield.

Also Phizzy made a cool formula so i could make the background change colour when entering caves or from level to level if i wanted. This all done without using any extra objects or extensions!

Have fun!

Phizzy? Is he, like, still alive? I mean, he's THE scariest person I've ever talked to online, but he seems quite good at game making.

- the 'slide' when you switch walking directions is very inaccurate and waterfalls should push Bren down when jumping. But everything else is bang on.
- shame you used the Turrican 1 method of limiting the number of times you can turn into the ball.
- background transitions are gradual over a distance, not instant. At least on the Amiga version.

But I really like this and I'm a bit disheartened that it will never be finished. It's a great effort. And now I'm hunting for my Amiga power brick cable thing

I'm not a Turrican fan, so ive not really played the games other than to rip graphics and sounds for this.

So i didn't know about the waterfall thing. But i knew about the background, and i'm sure it is instant on some versions but usually disguised by something.
