The tenuous relationship between the many races of the World is being strained as the greedy Dungaga hordes expand their Empire of Steel. In the game you play as Mia, a young girl born into slavery under the Dungaga. You must escape the bonds of your oppressors and defeat the greater evil controlling them. Fulfill your destiny, and discover the truth about who you really are.

Great game of course, but does anyone know how to play this game without fullscreen? When playing a click game in windows xp it does something weird with the resolution.

Posted by ShadowCaster 21st June, 2002

I have WinXP and it works great 8) Perhaps your graphics card/monitor is crap, Rikus?

Posted by Buster 21st June, 2002

Posted by Andi Smith 21st June, 2002

try in compatability mode running in 640 x 480. And make sure you have the latest XP games compatability patch.

Posted by Bart 21st June, 2002

People are complaining this game is too hard, just because you suck at games doesn't mean the game deserves a lower score.

Posted by danjo 21st June, 2002

all i can say is this is brilliant. very professional. well done.

Posted by ShadowCaster 21st June, 2002

/me changes his rating to suit todays theme 8)

Posted by The Chris Street 21st June, 2002

I can just see this game rocketing to the top of the Top 10 Downloads chart, and deservedly so.

Posted by ben_02 21st June, 2002

ah, not necessarily. thats DOWNLOADS, not sheer brilliance :).

Posted by 21st June, 2002

alright, i cant find the secret circy was talking about ANYWHERE!

Posted by The Chris Street 21st June, 2002

Ok, when you go in the forest, towards the end of it, just before the lake, theres a trunk sticking up from the ground. You need to fall from above INTO it :)

Posted by Simdrone052 21st June, 2002

YES! Finally! As expected, I love this game. Woo Hoo!

Posted by Spug 21st June, 2002

After you defeat the first badguy at the savepoint, what does the woman say...It was just black for me probbably because I was overlapping her :(

maybe you havnt extracted it to a folder.

Posted by Anthony Lopes 21st June, 2002

Very cool game, Graphics are incredible (of course, it's BES!) But I'm sorry, the hit factor is through the roof. you get hit by absolutly everything and situations are set up so that you need to know exactly where all the guys are to get by. it's pretty annoying.. I've even been hit by things that do 1 point of damage and died with one hit. (I had full life)

Posted by Poke & Gravy 21st June, 2002

Nice Game!!!

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

I agree, weak enemies should take off half a half point possibly, especially when sometimes when you dot the attack thing it doesn't work (I have no idea why)

Posted by Ecstazy 21st June, 2002

I have WinXP and it works fine... I love every aspect of the game, especially the music, but it's a bit too hard...

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

*note: To run in none full screen create a shortcut to the EXE and go to edit the target, after the actual location add '-NOF' and itll run fullscreen :)

Posted by Anthony Lopes 21st June, 2002

Yes, the attack can be inefective sometimes. plus, her hand stick out, increasing the hit possiblities. So when you have to land near an enemy and attack, you can take a hit by simply trying to attack..

1hr to download on myn pc! I would buy a new faster computer to download this game! but i dont have the money :(

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

You want a faster modem, or faster internet connection.

Posted by Zircon 21st June, 2002

Wow the intro is nice :) the graph is nice :) the game is nice :)

Posted by T.U.G.A. 21st June, 2002

spazz's review is right on the money about this game

When you win GOTW or make a cool game you should get extra DC points...Why is Blackeye a newb!

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

When you meet the dude your told to meet I wanted to save so badly :)

Posted by HiredGun 21st June, 2002

I'd just like to point out that Spazz's review is a loud of crap. I'm not just saying it... it's because the closest he's ever got to making a game wsa drawing a few sprites. And also "Chaos Gate" hasn't been released and, I think, won't be released for a long time...

Posted by HiredGun 21st June, 2002

uh.. I meant "load", not "loud".

Posted by Simdrone052 21st June, 2002

AHHHHHHHH!!! I keep dying! Are there any cheats, I have not made it past the freaggin frog guy even! Ahhh!

Posted by Georgie 21st June, 2002

BTW do those two guys hate you and everything you like? I thought the game was too hard and QUIT since I could never get to a save spot before hitting something below me I couldn't see. Probably a great game though. If the story isn't cruddy. Secret of Mana (3 players simutaniously) was the best I've played.

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

jump over him, no point killing him.

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

Spazz's name is very suiting I suppose.

Posted by Georgie 21st June, 2002

Whats Chaos Gate BTW and is it one that will never be released?

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

It is a game

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

just release whatyouve got open source ;-)

Posted by DarrenMcLeod 21st June, 2002

Honestly, how are people reviewing this game already? Take some time! You're probably what... 10% into the game, and you already feel like you can give a review? NO! Give comments, but not a full review! Wait until you are nearing completion of the game to hold your thoughts... This is like reviewing Super Mario Bros. 3 at the first boss. You haven't experienced the game yet! My opinions? So far, I would give it credit as the best click game ever (betas and demos don't count, even though from what I'd play, I'd pick this over any beta/demo). The music is beautiful, and the story is by far the best I've ever seen in a click game. The presentation is right up there with most SNES games. It's definately worth the download, and come on people.... hold your reviews.

Posted by Canaryman 21st June, 2002

actually, we'd be waiting for months before a review would come in. It's best to get a review in now. Before more games take it's place in the NEW GAMES column, otherwise, no-one will read them.

Posted by DBack 21st June, 2002

this game needs a walkthrough.

Posted by Killerjedi 21st June, 2002

Yes it most certainly does. I talked to the dinosaur guys and I can't get to the Dungaga city, has anyone gotten that far?

Posted by KeyrenZero 21st June, 2002

Awsome game. It might be hard for some poeple, but I like it.

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 21st June, 2002

Thank Ernest Borgnine that "Eternal Daughter" came along when it did. I was beginning to lose all hope for the community. Haven't played much of it because I'm still getting used to the game (ie: I suck at it) but so far it is quite enjoyable. Brings back fond, and not so fond*, memories of all the games I played on the SNES. *Not so fond memories include breaking a controller because of some of the annoying levels on Super Mario World.

Posted by Poke & Gravy 21st June, 2002

Yeah this game is excellent and like SNES...I loved Mario World, probably one of my favorite games ever. This game is hard, and I am at the castle-like place with lots of robotic things and spikey shields. The place I am at is extremely difficult, but I keep going back for more!!

Posted by Raincoatduck 21st June, 2002

That's exactly what I was going to say Darren. Don't review it until your done!

Posted by Joshtek 21st June, 2002

A review is partly to encourage/discourage people to use there bandwidth to download a 9mb file not just for feedback to the author on the ending sequence.

Posted by DBack 21st June, 2002

Help, how do you get that heart container in the third screen of the forest above the blue bird enemy on the left? Go all the way over there and you'll see it. btw I just beat the forest boss :)

Posted by Caderay 21st June, 2002

Ya, frustrating at most times but still a very well doen game. I posted in the wrong comments area, so Canaryman, that's not a bug... you're supposed to be able to move left and right while powering up.

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 21st June, 2002

Well, maybe you should think about that yourself Mr. McPodunk. . .*cough cough* Operation Sitting Duck 2 *cough cough*. . .

Posted by zellix 21st June, 2002

The game seems very good to me. The difficulty I think is just about right. Takes a couple tries to do somethings but you get better at it each time..if you take your time. I think some of you are trying to rush it a bit. And I will agree with Pod that the continue does take too long. I mean at first it doesnt seem too much but when you die a couple times you'll feel it. Over all I think the game is incredible for a click game. Good work BES.

Posted by Carlos 21st June, 2002

This is a great game!!!!. I have 10 hours playing it, and it is so cool!!!!

Posted by PeterG 21st June, 2002

I have been waiting for this for ages, and it doesn't dissapoint. Finally a game as enjoyable as Watkins. Oh, and this would make a real good gameboy advance game. BES should send it to a developer to see what they think, it wouldn't be too hard to code for gba as all the levels and art are complete.

Posted by Rhys D 21st June, 2002

to make the fullscreen version windowed, create a shortcut and then edit the location of it and insert '/nof' after the .exe hopefully it should make it windowed.

Posted by deh 21st June, 2002

this game is DEAD hard,its so frustrating and annoying.. ;_;

Posted by zellix 21st June, 2002

Okay I'm stumped...I beat Hume and stuff and that Elder thing told me to meet back with him, so i do, then it tells me to go down the mine shaft, so i do and i mean some old guy with long ears but he says im not powerful enough, so i go all the way down the shaft and get the double jump then go back but im still not powerful enough...anyone know where to go?

Posted by danjo 22nd June, 2002

its funny how you end up in the most strange places, wonder if all your hard work is leading you in the right direction. i myself have been to the city and now i went back and am fighting a big ice-spider (that i get heaps of hits on him) but it still defeats me.! :(

Posted by scaneider 22nd June, 2002

Hmmm, i'm similiar with zellix, i'm stuck at 34%, and i don't know where to go now. Btw, if someone don't know, the special weapon "hammer" can break the blue rock.

Posted by Zip 22nd June, 2002

this game sure is populer ^__^

Posted by Joshtek 22nd June, 2002

Yup, its totally had a long hype compaign I spose

Posted by Canaryman 22nd June, 2002

34%?! i'm only at 16! mind you, i am trying not to drown under that lake. Any hints? Oh, and circy, you have to beat the frog boss, cause the guy your looking for is in the cavern behind him. (HINT: Stick to the ledge above the exit and wait until after the tongue attack before going over, then as he fires his next shot, backslide out of the way)

Posted by colej_uk 22nd June, 2002

I just finished downloading and it says the zip archive isn't valid :( now I have to start all over again...

Eh,, I'd like to point out to all you reviewers that 3 lines of text is not a review (read: not worth posting). If you want to review a game make sure you've thouroughly played it for at least a week and THEN write a review (with a minimum of 600 words of course). And yes, I DO know what I'm talking about. I must admit that this game is awesome although the story is a little cliched so far (I'm only at 10% so don't get all angry, I said SO FAR) I was awed by the music and graphics, hardly detected any bugs. But I do have a problem with the difficulty, I have managed to get to 10% now but I am continually forced to load a saved game because I get killed all the time, something that doesn't make me want to keep playing this game till the end.

Posted by DBack 22nd June, 2002

eh, BUG, when a frog or that thing that you have to fight to get the dagger is in its attack animation and you attack it, your attack will not work. I don't know if this is all the time or sometimes, but this is especially with the frog.

Posted by The Chris Street 22nd June, 2002

canaryman: yeah, i did beat him yesterday, twas just after I posted my review. But thanks anyway =D

Posted by Killerjedi 22nd June, 2002

I'm at 45 % and I can help with some issues... Circy you are right, DON'T enter the mine shaft right after the forest. In the mines, I don't know what the deal with the weird guy is. You need to go to the right of that area, slide under the rock, smash the blue blocks with the hammer and enter the place with slimes, tomatoes and red rabbit men. Fight your way right and you will find a small city of fat green guys. Go to the right and talk to the 2 large ones, then go farther right and fight the king. Fighting the king: Jump up and hit his stomach and jaw until the fall off. Then jump onto his platform and attack his shoulder and forarm. Then attack his whole torso. Once it explodes, run to the left and throw daggers/charged shots at his legs, also if you get past the worms hit his legs with your regular attack. Once the legs are gone, attack his head with daggers and charged shots. He will eventually blow up completely. He's hard tho! Also if anyone has problems earlier then 45 % I might be able to help.

Posted by Killerjedi 22nd June, 2002

I forgot to mention the king spits out dozens of worms be careful!

Posted by jast 22nd June, 2002

DBack: You can never attack enemies if they are attacking you. However, they can attack you if you're attacking them >:(

Posted by Killerjedi 22nd June, 2002

I notice my review has been edited off, I would have written more it's just Circy said everything I was going to say and better than I would have. Later I'll write a fuller review, sorry 'bout that.

Posted by scaneider 22nd June, 2002

Slide under the rock? How?

Posted by bhlaab 22nd June, 2002

It's a good game, but I agree with nearly everyone else- It's too damn hard. ..And Future Fantasy will always be the best Click game in my eyes.

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 22nd June, 2002

The Daily Click needs to have a popular downloads, or best downloads, instead of just the recent ones. Eternal Daughter deserves to be at the top of some list.

Posted by Joshtek 22nd June, 2002

"Reccomended Games" list, you should be able to custimize what bars you see (like Forum Clippings) depending on what you look at (e.g if you look at previews)

Posted by Canaryman 22nd June, 2002

i think you backslide, i'm not sure. Maybe there is a power we've missed in the forest.

Posted by Canaryman 22nd June, 2002

oh, and i've managed to get to the next save point in the mineshaft - with only a level 1 weapon - ha! I perfected my jumps. (how sad am i? i can't go anywhere now)

Posted by Max 22nd June, 2002

ARRGHH! I can't download it! I always end up with corrupted zip files!! :(

Posted by Poke & Gravy 22nd June, 2002

Hey, where should I go after finishing the Ice Cave? Those weird things in the cave were unclear about it. Do I go right to the castle place or left ot the underground caves? Or somewhere else? I already have a dagger and two power scroll thingies, and seven heart containers.

Posted by Jesse Johnston 22nd June, 2002

Its not BES's fault you suck ass at games! Zelda 3 for SNES had some of the best thought out puzzles of all time, did you want an easy mode for that too?

Posted by AfterStar 22nd June, 2002
Rated :

Anyone knows how can i take the Scroll which is in the lake in the forest without losing all its "Breath"? And how could i get the Heart Container at the first level in the desert...There are 2 big metalic things blocking the way! Its an amazing game with great graphics and gameplay but i think its TOOOOOO HARDDDDDDD! The enemies are unfair,u lose too much health easily!

Posted by zellix 22nd June, 2002

OK this is for people who have not yet gotten the *SLIDE*, *WALL JUMP* or *DOUBLE JUMP*. Ok the wall jump is needed to get the slide, so go down into the caves (the caves near the dungaga city, NOT the dungaga mine shaft) and make your way down and to the right until you can't go any farther and there is water under you. Go down in the water and sink until you see a green one eyed monster thing. Go right above him and he will suck you in then spit you out, shooting you hella high. When you are at the pinacle of your height, go left and you will come to the *WALL JUMP*. No exit the cave make to the surface. Go right and find some blue stones. Break them with your hammer and talk to the guy with a red hat. He plays hide and seek with you. His first hiding spot is back in the caves from where we came from. So go down the caves but when you reach the water, go in it and to the left, and stay on the top of the water. There will be a ledge and he will be there. Talk to him and he will hide again. The next spot is back near the Ice Cave area. So make your way out of the cave and to the left back toward the icecave area. Get to the part before the actual cave and go left to a destroyable wall. Attack it and enter the next screen. Wall jump up and you will meet the red hat guy again. Ok now go back to where you very first met him and there will be the *SLIDING ANKLET*. Now the double jump is a bit hard to get. Go in the mine shaft (the first screen coming right from the forest) and just go down down down. When you cant go down anymore, go right and you will eventually meet a big bloody green guy (after killing or dodging like 100 enemies) and the *DOUBLE JUMP* thingy will be behind him. Hope this helped some, I know i was stumped for awhile.

Posted by Killerjedi 22nd June, 2002

thanks for telling everyone zellix, it's a lot of writing! now I can get back to the game, lol! ;-)

Posted by Killerjedi 22nd June, 2002

oh, canaryman, you aren't supposed to go to the mineshaft until much, much later! lol

Posted by Paolo Victor 22nd June, 2002

Where do I get the Hammer? I'm stuck at first metal "castle", and I just think I've forgotten something...

Posted by Canaryman 22nd June, 2002

isn't this an open ended game anyway, and you don't really need all that stuff to get through it. (although it's fun to do so)

Posted by Killerjedi 22nd June, 2002

you DEFINETLY need all that stuff to get thru, trust me I know :-) paolo, you get the hammer from killing the boss at the dungaga castle, which is where u are. Don't know why ur stuck tho.

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 22nd June, 2002

Arthur Lee (aka: Podunkian) who may or may not be an odd little 5 year old Korean boy judging by the photos my FBI contacts were able to relay to me, you're acting like an ass. You just sound bitter for some reason. Bitching about difficulty is not something to hide behind. Your demo for Operation Sitting Duck 2 was fun for a while, until it got so fucking annoying I quit and haven't played it since. You are not the person to complain about difficulty and mediocre AI in a game. Eternal Daughter is frustrating, yes, but why are all these people going back to play it again and again if it's so terrible? Well, because it's not. It's well made, and fun, and despite being frustrating as hell sometimes, I can't think of one game I've ever played that didn't frustrate the shit out of me on more than one occasion. Your constant complaining, frankly, just sounds like jealousy. Or maybe you're one of those fellows who has to be different from everyone else so you'll get attention. But considering how much you complain when people nitpick your stuff, maybe you should tone down the Asshole-O-Meter a tad, eh?

Posted by DBack 22nd June, 2002

relax, mohr. so he didn't like the game. big deal.

Posted by Killerjedi 22nd June, 2002

does anyone know what to do after you get the blessings of the machine god and underground god? i'm lost.

Posted by Joshtek 22nd June, 2002

pods views should go into ED1.1 "a bit better"

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 22nd June, 2002

Not necessarily, Pulse. Some guys are into that kind of stuff.

Posted by Kristofor Durrschmidt 22nd June, 2002

Everyone complaining about difficulty...lol and I was thinking it was a tad easy. Then again thats from a 27 yearold gamer that has everything practically ever made. :p I really enjoyed it.

Posted by Unknown Member Guy Man 22nd June, 2002

I think that Kristofor Durr Guy really needs to get laid... am i right?

Posted by xXAaronXx 22nd June, 2002

that intro is a long boring crapper, and i cant even get past the eternal daughter title with the chix outside the rock house thingy, IM STUCK HELP ME, i didnt wait through that boring intro for nuttin

Posted by xXAaronXx 22nd June, 2002

nevermind i got it, the graphics are great, but i dont know if this just became to much work or what but so many animations are bad, walking and stuff for guys, they move like they are on a skateboard there legs come together then go back to how they were, legs when i walk seem to go in front of me and then behind, its amazing

Posted by DarrenMcLeod 22nd June, 2002

Honestly, Pod, I usually accept your reviews as great. This is, in fact, the first opinion of yours I haven't agreed with. Now as far as your review went, I agreed with about 95% of what you said. I thought you made numerous valid points in it. However, do you think you really should've given it a 3, the same score you gave Decimators? I'd give this game a 9, or a 10, and I'll tell you why. If Jonny Newbie released this game under no hype, and no label, would you have given it a 3? No. This is by far the most professional klik game I have ever played. It's also the klik game with the best story that I have ever played. Yes, there are a few things I'd like to change with the engine. But these are details I'll live with, in what I can call the best klik game ever made. Blackeye, congratulations on making a very good game. Podunkian, your opinions are welcome, but they do not need to be so harsh on this game. I'd write a review, but seeing as I'm only 20% through the game, I don't feel like I've played it enough.

Posted by ShadowCaster 22nd June, 2002

Can you all try to remember that when writing reviews they should be more than just a couple of lines? If you've got a comment about the game, write it here rather than in a review. Oh yeah, and try to keep the comments here a bit more nice in the future :) We're here to have fun. ~Mike

Posted by Crono 22nd June, 2002

Podunkian i think a 3 was REALLY not neccessary. I mean It should at least get a 5. I hope they make a easier version of this when you start with like 7 health heh. How far did everyone here get? I only got to 10%

Posted by ShadowCaster 22nd June, 2002

In response to what everyone's been saying about the difficulty, I'd much prefer to play a game that was actually challenging than something I could beat in a few minutes... Ooh, it's taking you a couple of days to finish, how scary! [End Sarcasm] Seriously though, I think it's a great game in all respects.

Posted by zellix 22nd June, 2002

56% 15HP 5 Weapon upgrades with the dagger and hammer, wall jump double jump and slide so far. Having a difficult time with the 3rd rider but I'll get past that tomorrow maybe.

Posted by xXAaronXx 22nd June, 2002

damn giant toad killed me two times, i hate him, THIS TIME HE IS GOIN DOWN, i know i sound like i dont like this game but i do, its pretty good, 8-10 score for me, i havnt played it enuff yet tho, i dont like how you play as sucha scary girl, she looks like some lego freak character, but o well, DIE TOADMAN

Posted by DarrenMcLeod 22nd June, 2002

lol Pod! Yeah, for some reason, whenever someone gives a game made by a "big" click company a bad score, suddenly everyone assumes that person hates that company.

Posted by Canaryman 23rd June, 2002

pod, your review was long, detailed and yet lacking something. How about the graphics? how about the variety of enemies? The variety of scenery - backdrops that actually look good and not just repeated. Also, you claim that it's too hard, yet most people here are sticking through it regardless. Maybe you just have no patience.

Iam with Pod here. The game may look nice, it may have a great reputation, it may be the most complete click game ever. BUT!, this is not what you judge a game on. Personaly i felt that the whole movement system was frustrating. Your jumps dont feel like proper jumps. You jump in a situation where you think you wont hit an enemy, but you do. Alongside with that, the attacking system is totaly fudged. As i said in #k&p "its too much of a hack and slash, ... without the slash". What i mean by this is, that it goes along way to try and make it a platform style simple bash bash bash method, but infact its too frustrating having to dodge the attacks by shuffling back and forth, trying to get in range for your useless melee attack. All these little aspects of the game made me put it down , perhaps i will play it again at a later date, but for the moment i have much better things to do. Now i dont want to totaly destroy what this game is, because it is a very ambitious project that has come to light. For that i do respect it. The graphics, as i said, are awsome in detail character and animation. BUT!, once again a BUT!, personaly i dont like the blocky look, i feel they should have allowed to run in a selection of screen modes. Anyway, iam expecting people to try and tell me iam wrong after this comment, but the fact is, this is my opinion, and you dont have to listen. Well done on completing such a massive scale game, but perhaps you should have got those beta testers to beta test a bit harder.

Posted by Plasticow 23rd June, 2002

Pod and his friends would give this game a 8,9, or 10 if it came out WITHOUT anyone knowing it was being made. They just thought it was overhyped, and threw stones at it. It's pathetic, really. There is no arguing about it.

Posted by The Chris Street 23rd June, 2002

Podunkian, a 3 out of 10 you gave to this, and a 3 out of 10 you gave to Decimators (my game). Now are you really saying this is as good as Decimators? While you're entitled to your opinion, I think the only reason you gave it a 3 is because it wasnt as good as you expected. I know Decimators sucked, thats why Ive canned it ;)

Posted by DBack 23rd June, 2002

Yeah, what's wrong with you pod? Decimators deserved a 1 ;)

Posted by Joshtek 23rd June, 2002

if 5 is average then this is below average..and it isnt cos you can tell alot of work went into it..I agree that most of its bugs should have been reported by good beta testers, and the difficulty setting suggested too...did you actually HAVE beta testers?

I'm at 19% 9 Heart Points,1 Scroll and i have a little blue fellar that follows me around. Here is a secret i think most of you didn;t found:Just before entering the ICE CAVES,there is a weird guy where u have to tell him the words Jerusim Stack or something, just before he flies away JUMP ON HIM and he will get out ON TOP of the screen,go to the left and there is Grand-Gerry which will give you the little blue fellar! -I've been to the Dungaga Caves and i only found the "double jump" Anybody knows where is the "Wall Jump" and the "hammer"? Also how can u get that scroll which is under water in the forest just before the desert without losing all your breath and health.....Its impossible! ???

Posted by Canaryman 23rd June, 2002

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

lots of hearts and really powerful weapons to kill the fish, I had 16 hearts and got out with 1 left. hard!

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

btw, has anyone gotten up to like 66 %, because I don't know what to do.... I got the blessings of the machine god and the underground god and I don't know where to go.

this is annoying, after i kill someone after ive played a few minutes, it keeps playing the death sound over and over and the game freezez and only will move at all while im holding a button, why is it doing that i have had to restart this game so many times now because it keeps doing this

I'm @ about 23%. I talked to Smirnol, and the elder told me to follow him. I don't see him NEmore, and now I am at Hume. Any tips on how to beat Hume? I have wall jump. Where did Smirnol go? Those stupid bubbles on Hume kill me. AHH!! Help.

im bout 10% and i have yet to get any extra life or anything, i have the first sub weapon thing and i upgrade for my normal one, i beat the toad king guy, where do i go now? i went to the big machine factory like place but i think thats wrong because it is just far to easy for me to die to get through there, where can i get more life

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

smirnol is to the right of Hume, you have to kill him to get there. Hume is hard, try popping the bubbles, hitting Hume's drill when it's retracted, and sliding under Hume when he jumps. It's hard, took me like 16, 17 tries to beat him! :-)

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

in the forest, there is a tree stump that has an open top, fall into it from above. The dungaga city(the factory place) is for later, you don't have to go there yet. Go above the factory and 2 playfields back.

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

Kill Hume, I mean, not smirnol, lol!

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

I'm kinda lost myself. I don't think anyone else is as far as I am. A little more than 73%, 17 hearts, level 8 weapon, the blessing of the machine god, the blessing of the underground god, the boots, the anklet, the helmet, the dagger, the hammer, the sigil, the fire, and the trident. As far as I know, I've found everything in the areas I have access to..... If anyone gets farther, please tell me!

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

Oh, I rescued the weird bluish purple guy who replenishes your magic.

Posted by dcisgay 23rd June, 2002

How do you get the hammer? - I'm at only 13% with Wall Jump and have somehow mangaged to miss it.

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

You get the hammer after you kill Hume at somewhere like 25 %. He's the Dungaga city boss.

Posted by xXAaronXx 23rd June, 2002

where do you get any new abilities? im at about 18% and i havnt got any new moves like the wall jump and i havnt got the hammer either

Posted by Joshtek 23rd June, 2002

You have to look around, like drop down and go right etc.

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 23rd June, 2002

Hey, Podunkian, glad to see you like to distort facts. You've got a knack for it. Ever think of going into politics? You're just proving my point by getting mad at me. I don't care that you dislike the game or don't like the difficulty, what I was commenting on was your lack of tact in dealing with this frustration. I just said you were acting like an ass, which you were, and still are. No need to get defensive because I mentioned your game as an example of something that is also frustratingly difficult. I didn't say you couldn't do better, I just mentioned that perhaps you are not the man to preach about these certain areas of game design for the time being. It was also nice of you to completely misunderstand the Golden Girls thing. I appreciate it. The preview was done as a joke, and as you can see in the forums, I'm rather upset that it got all that attention. Thanks for paying attention to current affairs.

Why is the release of every popular game accompanied by some controversy? It's no simple feat for a few people to create a game HALF the size and quality of Eternal Daughter. The Blackeye crew managed this without the promise of any tangible return (like money) on their investment of time and effort. I've been playing it for a while, and unless this game goes WAY downhill from where I am now, it's easily the best work that's ever been done in Klik, and probably one of the best platformers ever made for the PC. That's my feeling, anyway. Sure, I would have done some things differently, and we can all offer suggestions and constructive criticism, but to frame a review negatively seems, to me, in poor taste. A 3 for Eternal Daughter? A lower score than is given for most of the unfinished crap floating around out there? Give me a break.

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

I agree charles. I think Eternal Daughter is an incredible game, it deserves a 10 in all areas. I think that, with some small additions like multiple difficulties, this game should be a gameboy advance game at least! It definetly deserves it!

Anybody else found the blue little fellar? Its cute! =) A 3 for ED? This is a disgrace!ED should be given 10 without any more thoughts. Its addictive, even if its TRULY HARD you just keep trying and trying. Graphics,Music,Presentation are amazing,u can tell that hard work was put into this. THIS IS WHAT I CALL A REAL "KLIK GAME"

I think people should think before they review with out thought. However, I personally do THINK(and have THOUGHT about it) that the game does deserve at least an 8, I mean my %%%! It's incredible!

Posted by 23rd June, 2002

Podunkian, you are an idiot who obviously knows nothing about gameplay. The game is hard, this does NOT mean it is bad, dumbpants. You are one of about 3 people who dont like the game. Hell, I despise the klik community, and I think it deserves gold, much moreso than Chaos Gate, which is a bitch to play. Go crawl in a hole somewhere, smartycakes.

Posted by Killerjedi 23rd June, 2002

You know, these sites are all getting weird nowadays.... Can't we just have some good klicking around here? Does everything have to be puncuated with swear words and screams? My god, we're doing this to have fun, do we all have to turn it into place known for pi##ed programmers and angered artists? Can't this just be fun, like it was meant to be? I'm tired of people arguing over a review, I'm tired of endless flaming. I'm tired of all this crap. How is it humans have a knack for ruining everything that's fun? What is it with people? Does the home freaking world have to be a damn melting pot of wrecked fun stuff and ruined ideas? Why can't things just be fun for a change? What's stopping it? This is what happened to just about every good site, message board and whatnot. I really could care less about pod's review or texmo's ranting. I could care less about all this now. One or two people get mad about something and then the whole community is in an uproar! Must this always happen?.... I'm tired. I'm going to watch south park and relax somewhere that people aren't butt holes and psychos. I'm going to get the he** away from all this. I'm really through with this sh##. Good Night.

Pod - Sure everybody is entitled to their opinion, that's what makes a country a democracy and not a dictatorship. BUT, there is a fine line between showing your opinion and being an ass about your opinion. That's the problem I have with you, you may bring up good points, but you bring them up in a way which is offensive to others and alot of it may come of as looking like bashing or jealousy. Now before you turn red and start smokin' out our ears ala Mia, I'm not saying those were your intentions. Maybe you should just calm down a bit with your criticisms, say what you wanna say but in a calm and pleasant manner like everybody else.

Podunkian - Have you seen any other games here on daily click that can MATCH the quality of ED? There are very few! Maybe you are a PRO kliker and you can do something better than this and that's why u judge it this way, don;t know...! I do agree with most of the things in your review but u are only judging it from its bad site, how about the good points the GAME has? I will review the game only when i'm at least half the way! I agree totally with Spydaman, bring up your opinion without offensive OTHERS! I'm excited that a game so cool was made with MMF,SO WHAT?Are u gonna turn me into a brainless ZOMBIE?

Posted by dcisgay 24th June, 2002

Having actually followed this moronic flame war from the start, I've noticed how the events were chronocled like so: 1. Pod posts this on ED page- Make sure you don't do what I did and go down the mine shaft right after exiting the forest. I swear to god, I finally realized why the game was so hard; I did a part I wasn't supposed to do until like... a hour later O_o. Anyway, the game's not so bad, still lots of bugs that make me wanna kill myself, and it's sort of still frustrating because your next destination isn't clarified that well. I advise all you Pod-haters to pay attention to that last paragraph.

Posted by dcisgay 24th June, 2002

2. Pod posts his review. He doesn't do so at 2% (like so many other people), but rather through "nearly half of it, according to the percentage." This means he isn't giving his first impressions, he waited and played until he formulated his own opinion. His main problem is the frustration level, "Why so frustrating? Because you have a lot of backtracking to do." There's nothing wrong with this as he's completely right. If he doesn't like it, (it probably mean he won't like Castlevania) so be it. "The projectile is useless except on bosses" - I personally disagree with this, but I don't go flaming and insulting him because of it! (Now, I always thought that was obvious, but apparently it's not). "Maybe a headsplit attack like that of Chaos Gate would have improved the gameplay a bit" - You people should note that being a former member of 83rd Stasis (remember them...) Pod's played Chaos Gate. Regardless of whether that game ever comes out, Pod has played it and would no doubt hold ED to that standard, which perhaps he feels ED didn't meet. The review continues in this vein, with civil critisizm and no flaming. The review is everything a review should be. Civil, informative, and reflecting the author's opinion. What's wrong with this picture? The next second:

Posted by dcisgay 24th June, 2002

-Whoah! In one post he manages to defame Pod's name, appearance, nationality, game, opinion and review. The sad part is that most of the posters do not care, and some even agree with him in the same insulting terms (not all thankfully). After reading Mour's post can there be any doubt as to who started this flame war?!?! Obviously, Mour, insulted on the fact that he did not agree with Pod's opinion decided to go slur him. I fervently hope he doesn't do anything physical in life to people who disagree with, as it's amazing in my eyes how much he does over a trivial REVIEW on an amateur gaming site. 4. The next post: (from Pod) Or maybe you should just go fark off and let me say my own opinion? I'm not gonna say this game is good when it's obvious BlackEye is capable of much much better. I personally think the gameplay rinks. If you want to be a farking Blackeye zombie-yesman, you go on farking ahead, as for me, I'll think independantly and tell you what I honestly think. Read my freaking review, look at what I have to say. It's intelligent stuff unlike "WHOWIES THIS GAME IS COL! BETST KIK
Posted by dcisgay 24th June, 2002

In this post, Pod makes some excellent points against all of Mour abuse. I commend him for not going and insulting Mour at all. Instead, all he does is disprove all Mour's opinions. Pod doesn't try to continue the flame war, as he says "how about you just back off and leave me alone." Pod obviously didn't think anyone could get so riled up about a review. I could go on and on with more consecutive insults people posted after about Pod, but I won't since most of them aren't civil or are just plain lies. I've noticed some of the later Pod-flamers have started reading the recent insults on Pod, thinking that will tell them what's Pod's done 'wrong.' Here's a tip folks: Don't read one side and then post your opinion. Don't be lazy, read all the posts starting from the top. Some people even proved Pod's points without knowing like this "Maybe you should just calm down a bit with your criticisms, say what you wanna say but in a calm and pleasant manner like everybody else" says Spydaman (a klliker I respect). What iss obvious from Pod's posts above is that he agrees completely. Read his review and his posts and you'll see he's civil all the way through. Never bashing people even when Mour completely defames him. I hope that people will stop flaming Pod without cause for doing what this site is made for. (And if anyone's interested, when I finish the game I intend to give a review to this game rating it 10/10 - well done BES...again!)

Posted by Killerjedi 24th June, 2002

er, I hadn't noticed the insult/hate post by mohr stoutbeard at the top. That rather changes my opinion.

Posted by The Chris Street 24th June, 2002

Gar? You killed him at, the, uhm beginning of the game, i think. But now Im at 59%, 14 hearts, 6 scrolls, in the 2ND ice cave, and its effin hard. I havent found a single god yet either, any pointers?

Posted by Killerjedi 24th June, 2002

No, you see, you have to fight him again at like 80 % or so. He's rebuilt in a super cyborg body.

Posted by Killerjedi 24th June, 2002

What 2nd ice cave? Are you at the part where you search for the gods?

Posted by Killerjedi 24th June, 2002

If so, the machine god, Zod, is in the dungaga city. You'll have to find him. The underground god is in an area near the city with the fat green guys. Also, you're going to need more then 6 scrolls and 14 hearts to get much further. Did you get the heart container in the forest, that's up really really really high? You need to double jump, then wall kick and bounce off one of the little leaf riding guys. The scroll that's under water is very very hard, you need at least 16 hearts to be able to get it due to drowning. Also, in the dungaga city there is a hidden weapon called the Sigil. You find it in the water just before the room where you fought Hume. It's hard to get. If anyone needs help who is not farther than 75% or so, I can help.

Posted by Spydaman 24th June, 2002

Wows, I'm respected!Cgman, I didn't know you cared XD. Anyways, good analysis but maybe I forgot to mention I wasn't talking as much about being an ass in his review cos he wasn't, it was the whole calling people who like the game zombies and stuff. I thought that was a lil uncalled for and also he's demanding respect for his opinion whilst shunning the opinions of others which is a lil hypocritical. If someone wants to say the game is "WEEELY C00lZ ANDZ XZELLANT!!!!1111" then let them, even if it does sound...unintelligent. But enough! Let's all be happy-happy, joy-joy and get back to klikking mein freunds. Ja?

P.S. Probobly.(did I spell that right?)

Posted by Spydaman 24th June, 2002

btw killerjedi, Eluriel is in this area above the rest of the forest. Go back to where you find that big heart high up, and in that area is a gap at the top. You need to fly through it.

muddy mud-skipper will make everyone be nice, everyone has a correct point of view in a way...The game could have a netter engine and it is not perfect, yet it is funnerthen most games and actually has good graphics - the game may be difficult but not impossible (especially if you have the required double jump bootS) and its fun nethertheless....Peace and dont give 10 to something that could be better in any way at all, or 1 to thinks that could possibly be worse :P Oh and 5 is average so ED is above the averge of, say 'Mr. Chip' and more like Locked 7 - but it kind of loses that ingeniousness that Rodney has (they do anything cos its fun)... Happy Log! LOG LOG LOG!

Posted by Spydaman 24th June, 2002

First go to the little cave where that guy who kept hiding hid last. Use the forks to reach the top of the wall you break and you'll enter this place with some wired trader who gives you a little ghost. You need to feed it and when it grows into a little blue dragon, go into the dunguga mines and find that area with the huge statues and the old guy with Dabura ears. If he still says you're not ready then you need to make mia stronger

ARGUMENTS FOR THE DEFENSE, DAY 1: Hold on, let me try this new fad that's caught on. I wonder if I can completely ignore reality and then comment on my distorted perception of it, just like my hero CGMan! Jesus, how many times do I have to say that I don't care if Podunkian doesn't like Eternal Daughter. I couldn't care less what his preferences are. What I objected to was the way he went about talking about his views. He belittled those who didn't think like them, saying they were sucking up to Blackeye, calling them zombies (which, I've confirmed, do in fact like gumbo). He was acting like an ass, and so I told him he was.

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 24th June, 2002

ARGUMENTS FOR THE DEFENSE, DAY 2: I was not defaming his name, appearance, nationality, et. al. Unless you have something against Koreans, the word "Korean" is not in-and-of-itself insulting. Besides that, it was a joke. Do you actually think I have contacts in the Federal Bureau of Investigation which relay me information? Do you actually think Podunkian is 5 years old? I love everyone's attention to detail here. I mean, the way you completely gloss over the post so that you can chastise me for something I never even said. . .I mean, damn, that's brilliant. The only outright thing I said against Pod that could be considered insulting was that I said he was acting like an asshole. Well, I'm sorry, but he was. It wasn't the review, either, that I considered less than tactful (though I will say that 3 is much to low for this game. . .), it was his comments. So, I didn't post any "insult/hate" comment. I emplore you to read what is said before jumping to conclusions. I'm completely against those who are insulting Podunkian for not liking the game. That is childish. All I was saying to begin with was that he should try not to be an ass about letting people know he didn't like it. Jumping on those who liked it by calling them mindless zombies doesn't exactly sound to me like civil behavior. Besides that, afterwards I tried to lighten the mood by joking with Podunkian about what zombies eat, and unless in the past few days silly goose has become an inflammatory slur, I didn't insult him. And that's all I have to say about that. Until someone misinterprets my message yet again and I have to come back and explain it bit by little bit, I guess.

Posted by Mohr Stoutbeard 24th June, 2002

Killerjedi, maybe the lil guy hasn't grown fully yet. If he looks like a floating, light blue kirby-clone more feeding is in order. Same if he looks like a flying rabbit. He should start attacking enemies once he's fully grown. Other than that you should be strong enough unless you don't have all the throwable weapons.

Me personally, I think it's best to review a game when you've completed it and tested it in almost every aspect rather then reviewing it after a few minutes or % of play because it doesn't give the game a fair chance. Then again, Texmo's would be the only review up there XD. I intend to review the game once I've beat that dang last boss. Btw, looking back on all these posts, it's funny how peeps have 4gotten what was actually said and exaggerated stuff =p

Okay I got to the tower. I talked to the purple guy in chains and now I am at that damned rider surrounded by flies! The bosses are hard in this game! The sick king took me forever with his worms...pure evil...enjoyable...fun...but pure evil..I think the game is making me insane! AHH! Fun! Gotta go play more.

Hey Pod, I respect your review! Although I like the game, your review accurately reflected many of the problems I have with it. As does thewreck's. Hey, take it from me (who's been told 100,000 times how bad the troop AI is in triumph!) when you are honest, fair and give the game a chance, even a low score is worth something.

Is there any possible way to avoid that "oh-my-god-it-will-fry-my-ass" death-ray of the last boss?

Posted by dcisgay 25th June, 2002

I'm stuck on Hume (believe it or not), because he seems to always back me into a corner and then POW! I'm actually at 34% despite this problem because I scoured all the previous areas for secrets. I've got 11 hearts and 3 scrolls. I have the dagger, wall jump, and double jump. If anyone can be of assistance I'd be greatful.

Posted by The Chris Street 25th June, 2002

YEAH! Finished it! The ending is...totally unpredictable, thats all I have to say without ruining it. Paulo: To avoid the death ray, you gotta wait until after it charges up, but just before it fires, jump and press down to flip. Afterstar: Gar was the guy you killed, but you didnt kill him XD. He can be found right back where you started the game. As for Elurial, you need ... TEH DRAGON!!!

Posted by dcisgay 25th June, 2002

I forgot to mention that I have the fully grown blue guy. (Not that he attacks Hume or his bubbles, thought he's awesome in the actual game).

Posted by The Chris Street 25th June, 2002

CGMan: When Hume jumps, its a good idea to slide underneath him in the opposite direction hes moving. Daggers can destroy the purple things in one shot too, unlike the sword

Posted by Killerjedi 25th June, 2002

To hurt Baphomet, you need to fly onto his upper(unmoving) hands, and stand there then shoot a charged shot into the gem on his back. Then jump off of him and hit his reddened head.

Could anyone help me? If I send my save to you by e-mail, would you kill the king? And Darren, go down into the caves (the caves near the dungaga city, NOT the dungaga mine shaft) and make your way down and to the right until you can't go any farther and there is water under you. Go down in the water and sink until you see a green one eyed monster thing. Go right above him and he will suck you in then spit you out, shooting you hella high. When you are at the pinacle of your height, go left and you will come to the WALL JUMP.

Hey, um I'm not gonna bother reading everything here, so sorry if somebody's already brought this up; this is a great game, no doubt about it. near-perfect, I would say, and by far the best i've ever seen come out of the clickteam community. But there is one fatal flaw! It takes FOREVER to get back to the game after dying! Seriously, I could shave in the morning and come play the game and die. Then, by the time the girl falls down (which seems to take a random amount of time), get up and troddle over to the game select screen, I'd have to shave again! I think you should've thought a wee bit more about this especially with making the game so hard, you've got to expect some people dying over and over to get the "feel" of the game. Right now i'm 50% done the game according to the gameover screen, and I'm stopping there because I've spent more time waiting to play than actually playing. Sorry to sound so negative about the game, I mean, its a wonderful game, kind of a castlevania platform rpg or something, but I just can't take that game over screen anymore. Just my opinion, anyway.

Posted by Xarres 1st July, 2002

I love this game, and i love the design and the ideas for the boss-enemies, but they are a little bit too hard! It took me 2 1/2 hours to beat Hume... he was the hardest at the moment. I am at 53%, 14 hearts, spell level 4, walljump, slide, doublejump and the fairy-thing (grown to the little dragon thing). I am in the tower at the 2nd rider (that one with the two hell-hound-things). I hate to play the whole part from the battle-room of the 1st to the 2nd rider after i suffered again to beat him! Is there a specific rythm or a way to stand against the hounds without getting hit often? How many hits can the 2nd rider take before i beat him? I already killed the hounds 4-5 times in one try, but this *@/§)$&)* rider has too many hitpoints! ARGH!

Posted by Paul_James 2nd July, 2002

Rikus - u probably fixed this already but to fix the resolution go to properties of the exe and set it to run as if it were in Windows 98 it should work then - i had the same problem with SnowBrawl. . .

Posted by Paul_James 2nd July, 2002

Okay Xarres - the 2nd rider isnt that tough - infact i think the first rider was def the toughest- the dogs arent to hard - one dog will just walk around and chase u slowly while the other does the same thing but charges every now and then - the slow one takes about 8 hits - once u got him down the other shouldnt be 2 hard- try this technique draw him close to where Mzmzr (2nd rider) drops from the cieling - the second dog takes about 16 hits and if u fell him by Mzmzr u should have extra time to hurt Mzmzr - also try jumping as soon as mzmzr goes in the air and hit him the air 2 - u might be able to sneak 2 extra hits. All together he has a total of around 30 hit points - good luck and what dragon fairy thing hell u talkin bout?

Posted by Xarres 2nd July, 2002

When you first come to the ice-caves of the elder race there is a Guardian you know who asks you for the password. If you are quick enough jump on his head so he will rise you up out of the screen. Move left into the next frame. There is a old salesman who give you a little familar which flys behind you. If this little thing eat enough plants during gameplay it will grow and attack other enemys or collect hearts and gems for you quickly (a very Powerful little helper). He beats the 1st rider alsone so all i had to do was ducking and slining.

Posted by KlikFactory 12th July, 2002

I really feel bad that a game that is presented so well has such horrible gameplay. The fact is it's too hard. This could have been prevented with more testers (how many did they have?). I find that even after playing a game I made just a couple times, I have my friends demo it and they do horribly and claim it's too hard. It's very difficult to judge how difficult your game is. -The Klik Factory

Posted by DBack 15th July, 2002

I didn't think ED was fun either. NO, I didn't think it was a "frickin massiah" or that the challenge makes the game worse. First of all, fighting a simple enemy: hit! back! hit hit hit! If I said it out loud, I would sound like one of those aliens in the game Space Channel 5. I'm probably the only person who's played that game so forget that reference. Anyways, you can jump over enemies, but that really won't make the game any easier. You get the weapons and lives by defeating the enemies, of course, but not all of them. The annoying bugs on leaves that fall, for instance, don't get you anything. But they hurt you. I really think that the game was too repetetive in its challenge in some places; it was basically hit! back! hit! back! hit! quite a bit. But then it got more complicated. That's where the game gets better. I just wish there were more changes in gameplay, so that the pace would pick up. hit! back! hit hit hit! is boring, not enjoyable. Now, the good parts. The presentation (graphics, music) is outstanding. Great job. Good bosses. Unfortunately, this game just manages to be slow in so many areas that it's not fun for me. Some of you are interested in a long quest. Well, I'm not, unless that quest has enough action. ED doesn't. It has, for most of the game, hit! back! hit hit hit! and the bosses. Too slow. It is clear that Jon and Derek did a good job. They really did. But you can't expect everyone to enjoy it. Even if it was by a noname developer and it just came out of nowhere, I would say the same thing.

"I don't like this game..." "WHY YOU STUPID! CAUSE' YOU'RE GAMES WILL NEVER BE THIS GOOD?!" "Yes." When games like this are made a new standard is created as well. None of us will ever be able to look forward to creating "the best click game ever." Simply because its already been done... We can keep throwing our games in but this ones download counter will likly always be the highest. I wish this game had not been made. Now what do you have to look forward to?

I suppose your right mushroom. Every game is an acomplishment, no matter the quality. Who cares who's got the most downloads? The best part of making games is putting that finished work in your "my compleated games" folder on the desktop. I'll just aknowledge that it took 3 years to make ED and that it was created through a group of professionals. That'le cheer me up.

Posted by Jack in the Box 23rd July, 2002

Currently I am at 94%. And I don't mind saying that I really like this game. It has good graphics and great music. The story is allright. I wish it had some more plot twists though. Like Mia is the one sent to enslave the world or something like that. lol. Too much anime. haha. Anyways, my only problem is the instant die symptom. Sometimes, and very rarely I will touch a bat and it will kill me in one hit. Ah, well. To me the Worm King was the hardest boss in the game. Mainly b/c he had so many different worms that annoy me. The first rider gave me trouble until I slid under him, killed the flies, saved my hammers and killed the rider. The rest of the riders were too easy. To me, the hardest boss so far is Baphomet's final form. Next would be the Blob king. My favorite two moments of the game are where all the races of the world join to help Mia. Then to see them die is so sad. But you know Hume was the strongest of all right? He is the only one to make it to the end. And he nobly saves Mia, who wouldn't have died anyway from one single arrow. But he shoots an enemy and dies. I loved that part. I will post another review when I beat the game. I think I will make a doujinshi for this game. That would be cool. :D Laterz.

Posted by Jack in the Box 23rd July, 2002

BTW, Circy. Where do you get the final weapon scroll? I know you have to use the fly ability to get it. Is it located in the second ice cave? And another thing. What is with all those gates? None of them open. The gate in the ice cave won't open. What's the deal?

Posted by Jack in the Box 23rd July, 2002

All right. What's with the last boss? He won't die. He's easy. I must've hit him 15 times. Sometimes he flashes white for a while. Sometimes he doesn't. Now what's the deal. I attacked the orb and his face turns red. So i lept down and attacked him then jumped up and flew back to the hand. I did this at least 15 times! How much life does he have?! I'm starting to get ill. Not b/c he's hard. I figured out his pattern. But he just isn't dying. Can someone help please.

this game is waaaaay too hard. Looks great like a professional game but it's way too hard!!!

Posted by Jack in the Box 23rd July, 2002

Yes! I finally beat him! What was I thinking. He was a breeze. Just use the sub-weapon you get from the first ice cave. Hit his orb twice. Hop down hit his face. Hop back up towards his hand and fly back onto the hand. Repeat about 20 times i think. Great ending! My time sucked though. 4:53. Blast! Ah, well! I don't think there will be a sequel. But a prequel would be pretty cool. Don't you think? Laterz! Btw, I never found the last weapon scroll.....I wonder where it is?

Posted by Marcello 17th August, 2002

Just thought I'd add a comment... In theory, nothing should get a 10. That would imply the game is perfect and there isn't a single flaw! The scale really depends on what you're comparing. If you're comparing it to every game in existance, a game that really deserves a 10 would be the last game ever made and the only game people play. In other words, unless it uses mind control, this won't happen. If you compare it in a relative sense, then a demo could get a 9, and ed could get an 8, but it doesn't mean that the demo is better than ed... cause they're in different fields. So, in my opinion, a rating is almost useless, and arguing over a 3 or a 10 is pointless. Though, I still think nothing deserves a 10, absolutely nothing. Marcello

Posted by JJ 4th September, 2002

About the theory about the perfect 10 thing, it's not something I really want to create an argument over, but if your rating a game in integers, and you think it deserves a 9.7 because it isn't quite perfect then you could round up and give it a 10. Even though it isn't perfect you could still argue the 10/10 score, because the game deserves the 10 more than the 9. However I prefer the less technical use of the perfect 10, (as in Edge magazine). Basically you use it for shock value, when you think that a game is just that little bit better than most very good games, giving a 10/10 is a way of making a statement like "I absolutely LOVE this game", rather than saying "This game is perfect". Of couse you have to use the 10/10 score very sparingly, otherwise the shock value is negated.

MAn this gaem sux!!1 taht spider 0nly has 6 legs!!1# wtf?! OK but seriously this game rules. A bit too hard maybe. But other than that it rules. Yeah that spider was hard but I beat it now yay :D! This game's weird because it's like an RPG but it's a platformer.. but I think that just makes the game even more special.

OMFG GOTY, GOTY! this is THE best klick game, TSE still has a little bit of unprofessionalism, this game should be released for PSone or something, but yah, fighting sucks at first, it is hard, but people shouldn't be saying it's bad cuz it's hard.. everything else, (Except control) are top notch

Posted by Strife 25th January, 2004

Coo coo pretty cooooool. :D This is a SNES quality game! And challenging, just the way I like it. ;) By the way, I found an UNOFFICIAL STRATEGY GUIDE for Eternal Daughter: http://podiumgames.net/eternaldaughter This strategy guide has pretty much everything you need to know to beat ED. It shows the locations of all the heart containers, weapon scrolls, and secret items too. ;) By the way, where exactly is Blackeye? He hasn't posted ANY comments. Odd.

Fileplanet is the worst thing humanity has ever created. Half of the downloads on the net link to it, even though you need an account just to download anything. Also, you have to wait in line for like half an hour just to download something say 500kb. Crap.

Posted by Louis Moon 19th February, 2004

I myself don't like this game. I don't mind when a game is hard (this is), but I do mind when a game is frustrating (this is).

Why the heck didn't they sell this?! Even I would buy this and I'm a cheap b*stard! Seriously though, I can't believe I haven't commented on this before, as this is one of the all time greats of game creation. Sure it frustrates at times (damn you King Grodol...) but all great (challenging) games do. This is a challenge, but not so as to make you throw stuff at the monitor (stupid Mr Stumps...). Great job guys, you've earned all the praise you get! Now why not take a rest.

this has definately been on my computer longer than any other click game but i feel its lacking something, i cant put my finger on it but... ah well. ive just finished that ice cavern thingy bit and that music was very weird and the cats faces gave me nightmares. a sequel right about now would be nice ;)

Posted by Strife 24th May, 2004

Yeah. I feel like ED's lacking something too; something that makes it fall just short of Gameboy Advance quality. I think it's the absence of paralax scrolling. Ah well... As a klik-game, ED has inspired me in quite a few ways. In fact, i'm currently working on an AWESOME platform game. All I can say now is that it will take a few years to complete. ;)

Posted by Devernath 28th February, 2005

Good graphics, original and also the music is original, and the story is a bit less cliche, but the controls are bogus. These cool moves get in the way of simple moving around. The weapon is too weak, and by the time its charged up you get toasted. Could use some work on that, but its good otherwise

Posted by The Chris Street 28th March, 2005

I beat this in a weekend. If I could revise my review, I'd probably now give it around 9/10 rather than 10.

Posted by Killerjedi 27th April, 2005

Anyone stuck in this game should read way back in the comments, I and some other people gave a lot of helpful tips. Just try to ignore the fact that at the time, I was a blithering retard.

Posted by ben mercer 30th April, 2005

The way this game is set out, the retro graphics, the compelling storyline and the overall "homely" sort of retro feel to this game are all beautiful. It is one of the only klik games that i have been able to play for hours on end. However, it is a platformer, don't get me wrong, a VERY GOOD platformer, but gameplay is often repetetive and could have been spiced up a bit with a few more puzzles and a few less of the same, annoying enemies. It may seem like i'm having a whine, but that is just a minor criticism. Overall I would give this game: Graphics: 10 Sound: 9.5 Gameplay: 6.5 Storyline: 10 OVERALL: 9 out of 10 Best click game i've seen! Well done!

ive never got past the ice cavern boss, after having to go through that level again every time the boss kills you is an example of why this game falls short of greatness imo. everything else is pretty flawless (from what little ive played)

maybe her acceleration could be a little quicker so i don't keep jumping onto enemies rather than over them.

but i love the music in the woods right at the start, well done to the composer.

Yeah, this game is brutally tough. Every new area I go to I die all the time in. I wish you either had more life or more range with your default weapon. I like the Castlevania-esque throwing daggers though

Phanoo did you even read my comment?

Posted by axel 10th December, 2006

Slowly I've come to realize that Phredreeke really was right about this game. It's awfully overrated. The presentation is professional, the graphics are beautiful and the music is nice, but the game engine is annoying, it's too linear, and it's frustratingly hard. It just lacks gameplay. Again, it's not that bad, but it's terribly overrated.

Looking forward to Yu's next game though. www.aquariagame.com

Posted by TheoX 20th December, 2006

Okay, right off the bat I have a problem with this game. When the character moves, she leaves behind sprite trails; sort of pasting her image on the background as she walks. In fact, all the moving sprites leave behind trails. This made fighting the first boss very weird, especially when he exploded and left a large orange poof on the background. What is with this? It's ruining a game that could be a lot more enjoyable. :/

It was probably good for its time, as far as click games go. I thought the intro was great, I liked the style and the music was great. I was expecting an RPG, which is probably what this game should have been! I would've played a lot more of it, I think. I found it awkward and frustrating, not worth any more of my time after the very beginning.

I agree with Neuro here. I just couldn't get into this game. The engine felt terribly awkward, and the animation wooden. It's interesting to look at it as a stage of development of Derek Yu's pixel art skills, but he was not good enough for such large game back them, hence the uneven and doubtful quality of the graphics. But that the game's minor problem.

To me this is still a clear 5/5. It has atmosphere, good flow (except towards the end), lots of surprises, and it has simple, yet fun and challenging gameplay. Also, the feeling of accomplishment when beating the final boss is on par with the old NES/SNES classics. Last time I played it was a year ago, and this game's soul is not dead.
