New Game: Without A Dawn

Clickteam, and developer Jesse Makkonen have just published Without a Dawn onto Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Playstation! This haunting visual novel, featuring an ASCII artistic style, is an experience worth looking into. Just make sure you keep the lights on for comfort and don't stay up too late ;)

New Game: Cube Hopper

Developer CaTGC has recently released on Steam a rather nifty looking time-attack based platformer called Cube Hopper. Containing over one hundred stages to try and beat, the game additionally features a level editor, allowing the user to create their own devilish challenges.

Cube Hopper currently has a 10% discount on Steam until 17th April 2026 (and already quite cheap), so if this interests you, it could be worth a look.

"Cube Hopper is a 2D platformer where you cannot die. The goal is to complete levels as fast as possible. There is also a level editor that lets you create your own levels, which can be played online and have their own Steam leaderboards."

Game Jam Entry: The Unholy Heritage

User LordHannu has submitted an entry to a game jam (known as the Brain Dead 8-Bit Horror Jam) and as a project to TDC. Called The Unholy Heritage, this point-and-click game is described as an interactive fiction about a farm game with monsters. It's not a big game by any means, but I'm hoping the developer expands upon this concept, as it's a classic throwback to the games of yesteryear :)

"The game is about inheriting a mysterious farm and wondering if it's even worth having. While exploring, you encounter creatures that are just there and helpful. The creatures guide you to a future on the farm. Right now I only have a base for the game where you can go into the house and sleep. Find two items that you can use to start farming mushrooms and meat. While you're farming, you can go to the shed and store them there. Like the whole game."

New Demo: Scourge of the Black Nova

A new demo has crept its way onto TDC from long-time member Indigo Steel Shield. It's a promising shoot-em-up of sorts called Scourge of the Black Nova, with visuals created in that "classic klik" style (if you know, you know). As mentioned, it's only a demo for now, but here's hoping this gets fully developed, with a full release hopefully coming up in May. A trailer is also provided on the download page, giving more of an insight into what to expect.

Upcoming Game: Island Fever

If you're after a island survival game (and we don't see too many of these built with Clickteam products these days), it could be worth keeping an eye on the upcoming game Island Fever which has just been added to Steam. Created by Bartłomiej Sapalski, the game features stylistic, chunky visuals and features a procedurally generated archipelago for your character to explore - and more importantly - survive! This looks very promising indeed.

New(ish) Game: Forgotten Lands

Towards the end of last year, developer Jarp.PIX released a game featuring beautiful pixellated visuals. Called Forgotten Lands, it's currently 80% off, for the princely sum of $0.59 USD, so could well be worth a pickup :)
