Tutorial: Arrow Shooter
Skill Level: Beginner - Intermediate

///
PLEASE NOTE: This tutorial has been updated (20 June 2012) to include use of an accurate 360-degree shooting engine. Two frames show a basic to intermediate level of Event List coding, depending on your needs.
///

This is an example file/tutorial for making a game that lets players shoot an arrow. All the Events are commented, and more detailed descriptions are available where needed.

There are two frames, each with their own engine. The first frame is a basic shooter engine that uses no extensions or advanced math functions, while the second uses the Advanced Direction Object and some trigonometric functions. Someone can put these together from scratch and start making a fun, functional game within a half an hour.

If you would like to see the end result of this tutorial, you can see a Flash version of the EXE here:

Sound effects made with BFXR. Graphics from KnP and Explogen v2.

Have fun!!!

In the event there's any confusion: the 360-degree engine is Sketchy's. I certainly take no credit for coming up with it; I simply show an implementation of it in the updated version.
